No fun getting sick on a trip. Glad your friend is letting you stay longer. Can’t imagine anyone getting tired of your company, especially with your sense of humor to entertain them. Feel better soon!
Took a break from all the POS bad news and was browsing YouTube. And found . . .
We need a theme song for all of us. I nominate this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FP808MiJUcM to play at every single protest and remind us we can, need, to change the world.
To put it in perspective as one person said, he was already dying when he sang this.
I have never kept up with music but the guy I was dating at the time did and we saw Queen in concert just after Night at the Opera came out. I think they were the opener - they were amazing. So many good songs and styles. We lose so many good ones too soon.
Check out the info on the concert. It was a simulcast with the US as well. Some 76,000 there and even more in the US. With most of the big names performing to raise money for aid to a famine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_Aid
The blog (essay? what does one call Substack writing?) and toon are great. And true. Oh how I wish Iran would hit the plane - or is it here now? Or on a US base in Qatar?
You need to get better - lots better - before getting on a plane. I highly recommend masking even if you hate it. More germs in the tube across country. And it's f-ing so hot here that I'd avoid it if I could. You have nice friends.
I wonder what he thought you did. A subtitle for one of your books is literally "A Cartoon Anthology". When I did your profile over at GoodReads for genre I used "political cartoonist". I differentiate comic strips from cartoons. I had to explain to another librarian that a book was allowed. GRs started this asinine policy that comic books must have ISBNs. That's fine. I get that they do not want the magazine style with staples. The problem is that about a fifth of the world does not use ISBNs. Back to the librarian. The book was for a political cartoonist in South America during the 70s. I told him that these are NOT comics. That they are books that are awarded Nobel prizes.
I may have lost the plot...
As to California, is it as bad there as it is here on the east coast? Right now, 6:40pm, it is 97 degrees with the heat index it is 106. Yuck. I spent most of my moves as a kid in mostly arid areas. The 6 months in Indiana had me very sick. You always hear "it's a dry heat". Having lived in El Paso and Phoenix I always thought whatever...until I moved to North Carolina! Oy. When you are outside you should not feel like you are walking through a steam bath. And the fact that my gym has one of those just kills me.
I wish they had blown his bribe to smithereens! So sorry to hear about your cold, and I hope you feel better soon so you can enjoy some time with your friends!
Feel better. Thank you for a meaningful toon and blog.

Wow! Must have been 300,000 people there! What a crowd.

Oh, and you can call it a "blog." I'm not picky about that. Someone once was afraid he'd offend me by calling what I create a "cartoon."

I should be better by Monday. I think I'm better now. The plane is in the US, but I thought I mentioned that.
Thanks. I thought it was here. That the AF took possession. Does Boeing do the work to make it secure?
I don't know if Boeing does it or not.
Well, maybe this seals the deal for that development property formerly known as the Gaza Strip.
Truth indeed.
I'd have to say "Hate and Stupid" though. Can't forget the stupid.
We can never forget the stupid. I’ve tried…

Before you leave will you update us on the dog, snail, fish and other miscellaneous wild-life you were taking care of?
Sure. They're all still alive, I think. It's hard tell with the lizards when they don't move.
