I think the NABJ invited him because they knew he would blow up and say some stupid weird ass shit and he didn't disappoint them. It was a great move by the Association complemented by Trump's massive ego and narcissism with his stupidity cheering them both on. His camp had to be dreading this date from the moment he said yes to the invite, and I'm wondering if they had a limit on the amount of weird ass shit he could say before they pulled him. I don't know what was more amusing, the bile that flowed from his mouth or the gasps of shock from the Association's members in the audience. It's beyond hypocritical (although it is darkly hilarious) to see Trump claiming that someone else has falsified their ancestry. Trump and his crooked daddy spent decades lying that the family patriarch, Fred's father and Donald's grandfather, came from Sweden, because they were afraid that Jews in New York wouldn't support German-owned businesses. Grandpa Friedrich was, after all, a German exiled from his native country as a draft dodger, who made his fortune as a whoremonger and brothel keeper. He even repeated the lie in "The Art of the Deal."
