It's been said many times that Republicans must lie about Democrats and what Democrats want to run for office, while all Democrats have to do is to tell the truth about Republicans.
Thing is, that's just a little wrong. What the problem is, is that our media wants clickbait. Democrats want to be "sincere and honest" not generators of clickbait.
You want media coverage? Have some woman at one of Harris' rallies scream out "TRUMP IS THE FATHER OF MY CHILD" and then bring the child on the stage. Doesn't matter if it's true or not, it's CLICKBAIT! Clickbait generates money, and the media doesn't care about blue or red, only about green. Green as far as the eye can see.
