Yo Quiero Cha-Cha-Cha
Rand Paul finds a new scapegoat
As Rand Paul and Republicans try to blame Dr. Fauci for the coronavirus pandemic and exonerate Donald Trump from all blame, they are ignoring that, at the same time, there is a resurgence of measles in this nation and a crisis of explosive diarrhea from lettuce found at Taco Bell.
The COVID pandemic was going to hit the United States no matter who the president was in early 2020, but Donald Trump's response made it significantly worse and cost hundreds of thousands of lives. Dr. Fauci did not cause the pandemic, and he is not to blame for its spread in this country. If you look at the data, you'll find that it was significantly worse in red areas where people were more resistant to social distancing, social gatherings, and wearing face masks than in blue areas, where people are much more educated and drank less Kool-Aid. Today, stupid fucks are blaming Dr. Fauci, who in reality should be credited for saving millions of lives.
The people making Dr. Fauci a scapegoat in all of this to exonerate Dear Leader have personalities that make folks want to beat the shit out of them. In 2017, Rand Paul's neighbor physically attacked him. Paul suffered six broken ribs, a bruised lung, and later, bouts of pneumonia. Maybe he should go back in time and blame Dr. Fauci for blowing his leaves into his neighbor’s yard.
Rand Paul is the kind of asshole who refused to self-quarantine while waiting for the results of a COVID test in March 2020, and went to the Senate gym and swimming pool, risking infecting his colleagues. Paul ended up being the first senator to catch the virus.
Rand Paul is the kind of asshole who creates his own certification board to certify him as an eye doctor.
Rand Paul is the kind of asshole who will release someone's diary to the public, which is what he did to Dr. Fauci.
RFK Junior is the kind of asshole who will give someone's diary to an asshole like Rand Paul.
So as Republicans continue to attack Dr. Fauci, keep in mind, they're assholes. They're the kind of assholes whose neighbors want to beat the crap out of them. You know people are living next door to RFK Jr, Senators Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, and Bernie Moreno, who really want to beat the fuck out of them
Creative note: I remember when I first saw the Chihuahua Taco Bell commercial. I was living in Honolulu, and it was 1997. As I watched this tiny Chihuahua walk through the streets in this commercial, I wondered what it was leading up to. And when the Chihuahua spoke and said, “Yo quiero, Taco Bell.” I knew I just watched something that was gonna go viral. Of course, this was before we had the term “going viral,” but I knew this ad campaign was going to be a hit. And I did not even know what “yo quiero” meant at that time. Nearly 30 years later, I'm using it in a cartoon, and people will get it. “Yo Quiero, Taco Bell” may be as big as " Where's the beef?”
As I was struggling to write for yesterday's cartoon, this idea came to me. The only thing that prevented me from drawing this yesterday, as I was growing more and more frustrated while trying to write for that other subject, was that I had already done cartoons on the hearing two days in a row. I felt like I needed a day between cartoons.
My colleague Lalo Alcarez gave me an assist today by verifying that mi españolwas correct.

Merch: Did you know there’s a Claytoonz store? My cartoons are printed on mugs, clothing, caps, and even a Peezy T-shirt. If you ever want a specific cartoon on some merch, let me know, and I’ll add it.

My deepest sympathies to Peezy for having to suffer being n Sen. Rand Asshole (R-KY)'s rat's nest of "hair." Oh yeah, no offense to rats.
Sometimes you have to call someone out for being an asshole, no matter what language you choose to use. Rand Paul heads the category of assholes, consistently, with little competition for the title.
At the hearing, Dr. Fauci was treated with the utmost disrespect and showed, as he always does, why he doesn't have to stoop to the level of those senators leveling untrue accusations at him.
To keep their jobs, they must have sworn an oath to never speak the truth and nothing resembling the truth, for as long as they shall live. They don't seem to have any difficulty upholding that one!
