Although we’ve engaged in trading friendly potshots online with each other, I don’t really know right-wing cartoonist Eric Allie, but he seems like a decent enough fellow…for someone who defends Nazis.
In Eric’s cartoon, drawn for The Daily Signal (a MAGAt outlet full of garbage and bullshit), he argues that the only ideas Democrats have is to accuse Republicans of being Nazis. But Democrats aren’t the ones who introduced Nazism to the conversation. When Donald Trump calls his enemies “vermin,” he’s the one who brought Nazis to the table. When Donald Trump claims immigrants are “poisoning the blood of our country,” he’s the one reminding us of how Hitler talked.” When he lunches at MAGA-Lardo with antisemites and white nationalists, he’s the one giving off Nazi vibes. And when Elon Musk brings Nazis back to Twitter, retweets their bullshit, gives out two Sieg Heils, and then tells the far-right party in Germany to get over the crimes of the Nazis, then it’s your side forcing us to compare you to Nazis.
My message to Eric is whining about your side being called Nazis when it’s your side who can’t stop acting like Nazis. When you try to klansplain’ that Elon’s salute wasn’t a Sieg Heil, you look stupid for believing it wasn’t and for believing we’re stupid enough to fall for your gaslighting. You can’t gaslight when someone gives a Nazi salute…twice. You look twice as stupid.
So after spending a week mocking those accusing him of giving a Nazi salute while never telling us it wasn’t, Elon told the Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party to “move beyond past guilt.”
Elon told the new Nazis, “I think you really are the best hope for Germany.”
Musk has endorsed Alice Weidel, the new Nazi party’s candidate for chancellor. If this was 1933, I have no doubt that Elon would endorse Adolf Hitler.
Musk was speaking to about 4,000 of the AFD’s goons virtually, and said, “It's good to be proud of German culture and German values, and not to lose that in some sort of multiculturalism that dilutes everything.”
Downplaying Nazism, which is responsible for the Holocaust, the execution of over 6 million European Jews, Musk is the one diluting history.
The crowd cheered when Musk said, “Frankly too much of a focus on past guilt and we need to move beyond that. Children should not be guilty of the sins of their parents, let alone their parents, their great-grandparents.”
Germany is a great nation today. Every American I have met who moved to Germany doesn’t want to return to the United States. It’s ranked as one of the happiest places in the world which is a huge turnaround from its past.
Germany is a lesson for us…a lesson we’re ignoring. Germany ignored the threats of Adolf Hitler who wasn’t subtle about his intentions at all. Today, we’re ignoring the same threats from Donald Trump who also is not subtle at all. The God’s sake, the guy is currently raiding churches and schools to deport the “wrong” people and one of his appointees is giving Sieg Heils. Even other Republican presidents would have removed someone from his administration for tossing around Sieg Heils. Removing Musk hasn’t been discussed.
As great and happy as Germany is today, it should always feel guilty for its past. Hopefully, Germany will remember its lesson and won’t give the AFD a fighting chance despite the meddling of the richest man in the world. Elon is also meddling in other nation’s politics too, like Italy and the United Kingdom.
Musk’s comments came two days before International Holocaust Remembrance Day, this year marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
German Chancellor Olaf Schulz said, “This is why I’m so angry about Elon Musk intervening for the far right and Elon Musk also not acting adequately to this killing of so many Jews… this is the historic responsibility we will continue to take in the future as well.”
Elon told the 4,000-strong crowd of fascists, “I do not say it lightly when I think the future of civilization could hang on this election.” I don’t say it lightly that giving power to fascist fucks like Alice Weidel, Donald Trump, and Elon Musk will destroy the world.
Germans should be ashamed of their nation’s history with Nazism. If it doesn’t have guilt, then there’s a greater chance of repeating it.
And America should be ashamed of slavery, racism, the internment of Japanese/Americans, the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, violating Black Americans’ civil rights, the Trail of Tears, persecuting and stealing land from Native Americans, denying the right to vote for non-Whites and women, the invasion of Iraq, and most recently, electing Donald Trump…twice.
Maybe that’s why Elon gave two Sieg Heils.
Creative notes: Yesterday, I was afraid nobody would recognize Barney Gumble. My fears were misplaced. Today, I wasn’t too worried because one of my proofers, who doesn’t keep up with pop culture and NEVER saw the Blues Brothers recognized them in this cartoon immediately. Also, I hate drawing cars. I suck at drawing most things mechanical. I also woke up at 6:30 a.m. and this cartoon was done by 9. I like these kind of days.

They're kind of Nazi-lite, but I don't want them anyhow.
Fascism was created in Italy, and was described by Mussolini as "Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power."
Seems as if Trump and Musk have the same idea.
I don’t know why anyone listens to Elon or the current project 2025 supporting Republican party.
