What is Trump's "secret" deal with the Speaker?
Yeah, I’m calling bullshit. I’m not calling bullshit on Trump’s claim he has a secret deal with House Speaker Mike Johnson. No, I believe that. What I’m calling bullshit on is Johnson’s claim that it’s all sweet and innocent and that Democrats are overreacting.
As Sarah Marshall said in the great film, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, “Bullshit bullshit bullshit bullshit.”
Donald Trump claims he and Johnson share “a little secret” that could have a “big impact.” From Trump, it sounds like an anti-democratic scheme to steal the election. Trump said, “We'll tell you what it is when the race is over.”
Johnson said it’s merely a "get out the vote" tactic. I don’t believe him because that’s not a secret.
Previously, when asked if he would commit to certifying the election even if Trump loses, Johnson answered, “If we have a free, fair, and safe election, we’re gonna follow the Constitution.” Did you catch that “IF?”
That big fat smelly “IF” is for when Harris wins, they’ll claim the election wasn’t “free, fair, and safe.”
Johnson didn’t believe we had a “free, fair, and safe election” in 2020, which we did, and he was a major architect in helping Trump try to steal that one. He has said he has no regrets and would do it again. His opportunity to do it again is in January. If Trump loses, he’s going to do it again and this time, they might succeed. We could be headed to a constitutional crisis.
Even if Kamala Harris wins, the MAGAts are going to try to steal it. They’re being helped by people like election-meddler Vladimir Putin and vote-buying and conspiracy theorist Elon Musk.
If Trump can’t win the election, he’ll try to steal it.
Creative note: I started this cartoon on Thursday in Washington, DC. I drew most of it in the lobby and even did the ear patches. While on the train home, I thought of another idea and I put this aside. I decided to draw it today but even then, I started something else this morning that might be kinda DANGEROUS, so I put that aside and finished this. The dangerous one will be an exclusive for my paid subscribers.

I don't trust any of 'em as far as I could throw them - which isn't far because I'm weak and have a bum shoulder on top of it. I'm prepared (well, not prepared, but unsurprised) for anything they come up with.
I'm hopeful that a tidal wave of Harris votes will more than carry the electoral college, the RICO (Republican In Claim Only) party will self destruct, Hakeem Jeffries will become the new House Speaker, the Senate will be blue too.
