As a father, I can only dream that I can do something -anything- that would make my children as proud of me as Gus Walz is of his father. That’s literally the dream that keeps me going in life. I can’t imagine I’m the only parent to feel this way.
One would never see any of Trump’s children reacting that way, because they’re incapable of understanding the nomination as the honor and achievement that it is. Instead they feel wholly entitled and expectant of it. This is the affirmative action of inherited wealth that Michelle Obama spoke of. The contrast couldn’t be greater.
People tend to forget or gloss over things that seem incomprehensible. So a lot of truly insane actions and statements by the MAGA crowd get swept under the rug, mainly because nobody wants to stare at that mess of crazy for too long.
If you want to really understand what's driving the MAGA's, read (or watch the documentary) titled "The Brainwashing of my Dad". The documentary is on both YouTube and on Prime so it's not like it will cost most of us anything to see it. And it's a must when it comes to understand the MAGA mindset.

LOL What is really scary about some of the detail in the "Brainwashing of my Dad" Video is the similarities with what is occurring right now, the copy/repeating of the words used by the convicted felon and that of Ronald Regan and the GOP policy and other documents. "make America great again", no government, women in the home not out and about (I paraphrase).... very scary. As cliched as this might sound, Kamala Harris "fight", not going back, etc now means more to me than it has in a long time.
I no longer believe the country can survive unfettered media that has no restrictions on what can be done to slant news in favor of one political candidate or another.
Sad but true. The billionaires do not have the best interests of the people or the country at heart. And we allow billionaires to own us.
That changes or we end. It's a choice that most don't even realize we are making, right now, in real time.
I know that my son loves me, but I can't imagine ever doing anything in my life that would cause him to cry with pride for me. What a lovely, beautiful moment that was! Except for DJT, Jr.'s 'hopped up on whatever' emotional spouting, the rest of his kids seem rather emotionless, so to see the Walz and Harris kids so full of joy, excitement, and true love for their parents is wonderfully refreshing. I could watch it all day! These are normal families in so many ways and it's great to see! Great cartoon and blog, once again, Clay! Have fun sneaking into the hall tonight!
