Surprise!
Don't get too excited
I kinda wanted to drop this like Taylor Swift did with Folklore back during the pandemic. Surprise!
This was difficult. I used my right and left hands to draw this today. I had to take a break because my cleaning service arrived, and right after that, my PT trainer get here. I was happy to tell him that I was drawing a cartoon. It was also nice to surprise my proofreaders when I sent this to them.
I am not back, though a lot of people on Facebook think I am. As I said, this was extremely difficult. My right shoulder, which has been in pain since four days before the stroke, has been hurting since I started the cartoon. I would get frustrated with my left hand and switch to my right, and then I'd be frustrated again and back to my left.
This does take a lot out of me. I can't promise how often you will get a new cartoon from me. I might even spend more than one day on a cartoon. I am still lacking control in strength and control in my right hand, and of course, I'm not left-handed. This isn't easy.
Also, the streak is over, and I have no plans to attempt another one, even after I return to something that may seem somewhat normal. For now, I'm going to draw a cartoon when I feel like drawing a cartoon. Knowing me, that might be more often than not.
I stepped back to look at what I had done halfway through this, and suddenly felt a huge wave of joy come over me. I had drawn a political cartoon. But no, I'm not back. Don't spread those rumors. More than one person has written on Facebook that they teared up when they saw that I had drawn a cartoon. Yeah, me too.
I listened to some music while drawing, and Learn to Fly by the Foo Fighters came on at one point. I couldn't think of any other song that was more appropriate.
As for MTG, she has a lot of work to do in time to put in before I will ever trust her.

It's so fabulous to see you trying so hard to get to where you need & want to be. Another five-year+ streak? No need. You did that already, so other goals await. Meanwhile, your pain made a lot of people very happy. <3
CLAY! I am tearing up! This is so wonderful! It’s amazing! I hope your shoulder gets better. Any chance you can get somebody to come in and do a massage on your shoulder and upper back? Keep going on, Clay! You may not feel you are back, but we do. You will get better overtime. You will be able to draw better overtime, but this is fabulous!❤️
