Great. So Islamic fundamentalists have more smarts and integrity than Republican U.S. Congress folk.

A party of orangutans at a picnic has more smarts and integrity than U.S. Republican Congress folk.

Plus they are waaay cuter and probably more fun to be around.

Yes.

A sad state of affairs, but a good 'toon, Clay. I especially like the line "folded like cheap umbrellas" ... I must remember that one! One word seems to be sorely lacking in Congress today: integrity. The cost will be paid by us, but also by future generations both here and around the world.

"Integrity"--what's that?!

I'll believe Collins no vote when I see it.

Karyn Milos's avatar

My first thought when I saw the update. 😏

Paul Davis's avatar

She'll vote no if there are more than 49 votes to confirm. Just another "CONCERN".

Jeez, Clay. Why would you lean 'orange man bad', in your output?

Yep. IN YOUR FACES, FUCKERS.

Oh, and bad orange turd can't primary mullahs....

Susan Johnson's avatar

grrrrrrrr....this toon and blog are spot-on.

Great toon!

So, basically Cornyn and Tillis put on a show, hoping that there'd be a way to get back in Trump's good graces and avoid his ire. Maybe keep their families safer, too, by "folding like cheap umbrellas." Love how you added the word "cheap"! Is that even an expression? (I've heard of "folding like a tent.")

Anyway, "stupid is as stupid does," and that describes our good ol' Senate Republicans for ya.

My money's on Iran--they've consistently been winning--something Trump as yet to figure out how to pull off.

Love Blanche* on the ear diaper--*aka, Trump's personal attorney.

NPG BELL's avatar

Maybe caved like cheap tents? Love all these metaphors that don't involve insulting invertebrates who have more cellular integrity and fortitude than anybody in the GOP.

Audrey Eve's avatar

That's for sure!

I wasn't familiar with the expression, but it makes sense here!

Oh, now I need to Go To Funkytown!!

It's been in my head since I uploaded it.

Gotta make a move to a town that's right for me!

I think many of us are feeling that lyric right now, given the current state of our nation.

And then there is money laundering…

QUOTE:

Lawyers for Capital One on Friday asked a federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit brought by President Trump’s trust over its closing of Trump Organization-affiliated accounts years ago, saying it did so only after money laundering concerns were flagged by experts.

Paul Davis's avatar

Is there any doubt that Trump would engage in money laundering?

D. D. Wyss's avatar

Iran's leaders are smarter and more honest than Republicans. I believe them over our own regime.

Joan Eisenstodt's avatar

Yes, I’m a periodic “cockeyed optimist”. MIGHT Tillis and Cornyn have sent it out to vote no on the floor? Any chance?

😂😆😅🤣 LMAO 😜😛🤪😝

Nailed it!

I'll just repeat what I've said before, nuclear explosives are getting close to their century date. How you keep someone from building century old technology is beyond my understanding.

And the answer to that is that you cannot. You can make it very costly with DIPLOMACY, but that's something Trump doesn't understand and doesn't do.

Regarding the little Colins - how one - 1 - vote can affect the entire USA and remove reproductive health care from half of the US population. Yes, females/women make up half (50%) of the US population!

Cryin’ Kavanah’s other claim to fame is he said it was okay to stop people if they looked Hispanic or foreign. https://www.scotusblog.com/2025/09/justice-brett-kavanaugh-and-racial-proxies/

Fetterman is not an anything - he follows whatever pops into his weird little mind.

Why the grifter-in-chief does not understand is the Iranians are actually like him - they want to survive no matter the cost. They are horrible despicable and violent - and will kill anything to survive, even if it means killing million of people. They are in their safe houses and protected by a religious cult that cannot see past the fundamentalism of staying in power. He has given the Iranians the power to control the Straits - something they never had before. Now they can even earn money from it and not give him any of it!!

The grifter-in-chief has turned politics from serving the public to serving themselves - no member of congress is immune to the siren call of money and power. The founders did not realize it would take 250 years for the republic to fall. It is almost 239 years since Benjamin Franklin said “a republic, if you can keep it” (September 17, 1787 - Washington Convention)

Franklin understood the fragility of democracy. Unfortunately the Checks and Balances are now checks to the corrupt Trumphukians that fatten their balances.

The Iranian mullahs are zealots and have a different definition of “integrity” than do we…. But they’ve okayed Donnie J Dumphuk like a Stradivarius…

Richard Van Atta's avatar

That’s a very low bar … both intelligence and integrity because the REPUGNANTCANTS have zero of both…. Can’t say Iranian leaders have any integrity … but they’ve played Donnie J and his “braintrust” like a Stradivarius.
