I'm not sure what you need to do dietarily since I'm not diabetic but pre-diabetic, so yours might be much stricter than mine. But I eat whole grain or brown rice pasta and noodles along with brown rice instead of white rice. I'm wondering if you can do those. Also, for my chocolate cravings I eat up to 2 Russell Stover sugar free chocolates a day, though I frequently will skip them. Also, sugar free chocolate Jell-o pudding does pretty well for me. Thought I would mention these in case you find any of this info useful.
Yes, I can do all of that. I just haven't done the whole-grain pasta yet. I need to try it. A friend brought me an entire bag of Russell Stover chocolates, and they were awesome. Again, I didn't go crazy. It was usually just one a day. I have some sugar-free peanut butter cups and some Hershey dark chocolate, and those are like one a day, too.
I appreciate your willingness to share your health journey, even though you are under no obligation to anyone to do so. I hope people become aware of when they are crossing the line from concern to "nosey-none-of-your-business". If not, based on your previous posts, I'm sure that you will bluntly set them straight. It's one of the things I love about you. Bam! Clay has draws the demarcation zone!! 😊
Sounds like you're doing everything Right and I applaud your tenacity - especially when eating out. My hubby also 'gave up' salt and sugar....and I know that's hard....I haven't been able to do it yet....but I keep trying. You are an inspiration to the rest of us....and not just in your recovery but with your straight up political cartoons. They are like Medicine for the rest of us.
Sounds like you are being a wonderful patient...and you have made such progress, still some to go. But, as with this toon and blog, your work is spot-on.
Good cartoon and good job taking care of yourself. Sending people a link to your original post about the stroke to people who have been out of the loop sounds like a good idea to me.
I had a classmate who posted an AI $250 bill with Spanky’s head on it. You may have seen the (possibly also AI, I hate that stuff) pic of Spanky with that 5-fluorouracil rash almost up to his eye. I responded that was the picture they should have used. Only mild roasting followed, including Spanky was the GOAT. I responded Baaaah. I should have responded “If he’s Pan, where are the flutes and devil tail?” Maybe next time. Oh… Krusti Gnome got hers last week, Pam Bondi will get… what was that John Mitchell line, again… her appendage in the big fat wringer this coming week. Poetic. EPSTEIN!
Clay, your BP is better than mine! Despite starting medication 2 weeks ago tomorrow, I am frequently still in the 140s, although one day this week I was down to the 120s systolic, but still in the 70s or 80s dystolic. ☹️ Whatever you're doing, it's working for you!! Hopefully, spring will be coming and the warmer weather will help with the cold making you feel numb. Keep doing your therapy, go for walks...
I hope Wilson did not end up on Epstein Island after he became separated from Tom Hanks. Wilson is a good guy, he should be someplace nice, maybe riding the surf in Hawaii, or even Australia! 😊
No pasta?! I've had Type 1 diabetes for 60 years. Pasta is good because, for a carb, it breaks down slowly. I suggest you double check with a diabetes specialist. Be well.
Very clever cartoon.
But… I guaranty that I will have bad dreams because of it. Either tonight, tomorrow, or both.
Great idea it probably did come from Epstein Island. It’s just slow in showing up.
So glad to have updated information about your health. You are amazing. You are doing wonderfully.
It must be really awful though to go outside, get cold and feel frozen up. Spring is coming soon and maybe that will help.

Glad to hear the recovery is going well so far.
BTW, his neck rash is from the shock collar Bibi makes him wear....
He's got a terminal case of Espteinitis.

Wishes for continuing improvements, Clay. BTW, you need to put a warning sign on
strips showing a half naked Trump. Luckily I wasn't eating or it would have been spewed everywhere.

Hey, renaming things is tRump's modus operandi: Kennedy Center, Defense Department, Gulf of Mexico, and the beat goes on...
Let's rename Epstein Island to Poison Ivy Island since it had so much venom going on.
Poor Bob Denver. Little Buddy deserves better than to adorn any part of That Creature.
Excellent numeros all around, Clay!
You’ve made such amazing progress! Pat yourself on the back, you deserve it. You have come so far in a fairly short time
