Remember Ken Paxton? He’s the guy who tried to sue and stop Pennsylvania’s electoral votes for Joe Biden in 2020 and give the state to Donald Trump, despite the fact Paxton is the attorney general of…TEXAS.
Paxton is corrupt. He’s being investigated by the FBI and his own state tried to impeach him but fortunately for Paxton, the state legislature is controlled by Republicans, so he’s still in office.
Currently, Paxton is suing the city of Dallas for a gun ban in state fairs held in the city. He has NOT sued the National Rifle Association for banning guns for the conventions they’ve held in Texas.
Oh yeah, Paxton is also raiding homes of Latino election volunteers on the suspicion of voter fraud. Voter intimidation isn’t enough for Paxton and he had to make it racist voter intimidation.
You have to respect Paxton’s ability to multitask and accept bribes, raid the homes of Latinos, sue Dallas over guns, have an extramarital affair with a woman, have an extramarital affair inside Donald Trump’s ass, and form posses to go after women trying to escape Texas for other states that offer reproductive freedom. He’s a real dynamo.
In case you’re new to this, you may be asking yourself, “Why does Texas allow a vile and rancid corrupt piece of crap like Ken Paxton run amuck as its attorney general? Before you ask me that question, keep in mind that Texans also voted into power Greg Abbott and Ted Cruz. Everything is bigger in Texas, especially corrupt lying assholes.
A couple days ago, Elon Musk tweeted that the majority of “illegal” immigrants vote for Democrats which is a lie because non-citizens do NOT vote in our nation’s presidential elections. Ken Paxton is probably a follower of his and has helped push this lie.
The thing is though, there’s hardly any voter fraud in this nation, and when officials do find cases of actual voter fraud, it’s being committed by Republicans. For example, and maybe you’ve heard about this, but one high-ranking Republican official called Georgia’s secretary of state and demanded that he find him 11,780 votes after he lost an election. This Republican official also tried to install fake electors in Michigan after he lost an election there. And, he has a Republican buddy in Texas who tried to stop the certification of Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes (it now has 19).
If anybody’s cheating in elections, it’s Republicans.
Recently, Texas Republicans restricted voting access in Harris County, which includes Houston. They only enacted new restrictions in that county, not any others in Texas. Hmmm….I wonder why (not really. We know why). These same types of restrictions have been placed throughout the country by Republicans, like removing ballot boxes, changes to mail-in ballots, restricting the hours a person can drop off ballots, and making it illegal to give a black person a bottle of water while he or she is in line waiting to vote.
They call these efforts “election integrity” which is ironic because integrity has nothing to do with these changes.
These restrictions put into place to make it more difficult for minorities to vote are not enough for Republicans, at least not for Ken Paxton anyway. So to put an extra oomph to discourage minorities from voting, he’s raiding the homes of Latinos, tearing them apart, and confisciating their computers, cell phones, and other forms of “evidence.” You know, he’s stealing shit.
Paxton is accusing several organizations, coincidentally, all Democratic, of illegally registering noncitizens to vote.
On Monday, Paxton announced that the state had removed 1 million voters from the registration rolls, saying the removals represent an effort to “protect the right to vote and to crackdown on illegal voting.”
Ready for a fun fact? According to Paxton’s own office, 154 people in Texas have been charged with crimes related to voter fraud, from mail-in ballot fraud, assisting fraud, and voting illegally. These 154 people charged aren’t from 2020, but from between 2004 to 2021. That’s an average of about nine cases of voter fraud a year.
Paxton’s raids have taken place against members of the League of United Latin American Citizens, the oldest Latino civil rights organization in the United States. One of the activists targeted was 87-year-old Lidia Martinez of San Antonio, a LULAC member for more that 35 years who works to expand voter registration for seniors and veterans.
Martinez said nine officers in tactical gear knocked on her door, presented a warrant, and questioned her for more than three hours. They took her phone, calendar, computer, blank voter registration forms, and her certificate to conduct voter registration.
It’s especially interesting that they took her ability to register new voters. They’ll probably investigate this until after the November election, and then they’ll return the certificate to register voters to her.
Paxton said, “My office is investigating every credible report we receive regarding potential criminal activity that could compromise the integrity of our elections. The Biden-Harris Administration has intentionally flooded our country with illegal aliens, and without proper safeguards, foreign nationals can illegally influence elections at the local, state, and national level.”
Two things: He blamed it on the “Biden-Harris” administration, claiming they’re “intentionally flooding” our country with “illegal” aliens which shows this is political, and he’s basing these “investigations” on a lie.
If Ken Paxton wants to go after foreign nationals illegally influencing elections, then he needs to arrest Vladimir Putin who helped Donald Trump “win” the White House in 2016.
The president of LULAC said Paxton is seeking to “harass and intimidate Latino nonprofit organizations, Latino leaders and LULAC members” with an aim to “suppress the Latino vote.”
That’s exactly what Paxton is doing. Why? Because Republicans are afraid of Latino voters. The Latino vote may not be enough to turn Texas blue in 2024, but it’s getting there. Paxton and Republicans figure it’s better to stop it now than in the future when it’s too late. They see Arizona turning blue and they don’t want to follow suit. Eventually, Texas will be blue and no amount of intimidation by the likes of Ken Paxton will stop it.
LULAC is asking the Departmet of Justice to investigate Paxton, and add it to their other investigations of him. What’s funny is that LULAC has more evidence of Paxton committing voter intimidation than Paxton has of voter fraud. Paxton is abusing his office.
I’m looking forward to the day when Ken Paxton loses his voting rights because convicts can’t vote in Texas.
