Any time I criticize the Israeli government or military, I get accusations of antisemitism. Last week, a goon called me a “Jew hater” on Threads without any context. None of that bothers me because there has never been one instance when the accusers have added context.
But being against dropping bombs on children shouldn’t make you antisemitic or Islamophobic. Terrorism is bad, no matter what label the terrorists wear.
Israel has a right to defend itself, but it doesn’t have a right to kill civilians. Naturally, neither do terrorists but terrorists are going to terrorize. Legitimate nations are supposed to be better than terrorists. An eye for an eye isn’t always the correct response.
Just as the state of Israel shouldn’t be bombing hospitals, refugee camps, schools, humanitarian workers, and children in Gaza, they shouldn’t be murdering them in Lebanon. In an attempt to kill Iranian-backed Hezbollah, Israel has killed several civilians, including children. Over 450 people have also been injured by this attack.
This is a new strategy. Israel planted explosives in pagers and walkie-talkies that were purchased or given to terrorists. How they managed to do that, I don’t know. It’s also news to me that anyone is still using pagers. Motorola stopped making pagers in 2001 but maybe they’re ideal for terrorists since cell phones are much more easily tracked and spied on.
A few of my right-wing “colleagues” have drawn cartoons celebrating and rejoicing over this attack, but it’s always one side for those goons when it comes to Israel. The more honest political cartoonists will point out that it’s equally wrong for either side to murder civilians. You wouldn’t know it’s wrong for Israel to murder civilians if you only read cartoons by Michael Ramirez, Chip Bok, Lisa Benson, Steve Kelley, Gary Varvel, Tom Stiglich, and other assorted goosestepping cartoonists.
When Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved this plan, he didn’t bother to consider who the terrorists might be standing next to when the bombs in their pockets went off. Bibi never considered where they may be. He never considered that the pagers may have been passed on to someone who’s not a terrorist.
When Vladimir Putin bombs a hospital, and then an apartment, playground, school, and other civilian targets, it can’t be a mistake. It’s the same for Netanyahu, who consistently keeps attacking civilian targets.
As Harvey Dent said in The Dark Knight, “You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.”
Netanyahu has become a villain.

Excellent today, Clay. I agree with you 100% and fuck Netanyayhoo.
One of my first thoughts was how do they know those pagers and walkie talkies are only used by members of Hezbollah? Did Terrorists R Us make some kind of bulk purchase?
