A man stops by a news stand every morning, glances at the front pages, and moves on. After weeks of this, the news vendor asks him what's with the ritual? The man says "I'm looking for an obituary." The news guy tells him those are in the back of the paper.
I can't wait for the malignant mendacious mango to die, not because I want him to die, but because it will prevent him from causing more people, who unlike him, do have some redeeming qualities as people, to needlessly die.
At the current time, I cannot harbor any compassion for the president*. As soon as he is no longer president, and there is no longer any possibility of him attaining such power ever again, then, and only then, will I be able to have compassion for how pathetic and awful of a human he is.
With Mueller's passing, Trump has, once again, revealed himself to be nothing more than a callous, vindictive, vile, hateful excuse for a human being. And, you're so right--the Republican silence is deafening; there is, predictably, no condemnation whatsoever.
Love Putin, the drippy, sippy cup ("Russia, Russia, Russia"), the way his red tie divides the space, the bowl of nuts and, of course, the last line!
The president is one of the most amoral and hateful people who ever held the role of president. I will be overjoyed when he leaves office even if it's midterm and JD Vance takes over.
Unfortunately he has managed to get by with so many criminal offenses hanging over his head and failed impeachments I can only see him jamming the system with lawsuits to avoid ever going to prison.
When he dies and I hope to be around for that I will just be left with a really bad taste in my mouth.
Not one of. He has zero redeeming characteristics as far as I can see. Nixon, at least, actually did good for the country, like the EPA, among other things.
Nixon was corrupt but he was at least more competent in his corruption that this circus of a regime. Nixon's arrogance and hubris was exposed. Trump's arrogance and hubris has been on display from Day 1.
Exactly. He definitely had his shady side, but he at least did his job competently, and in some areas, as I noted, well. And compared to Don Boy, Tricky Dick looks like Mister Rogers.
I don’t wish death or really anything much ill on anybody.
My hope is that he gets incarcerated, put in an orange jump suit, has his head shaved, and be forced to eat only vegetables and read actual books all day. With a dog outside his cell watching him. OK, maybe a shark filled moat surrounding the cell. No TV.
He can, but it's probably below 4th grade. It's why he's trying to eliminate the federal department of education. Otherwise he'd be obligated to go to elementary schools and try to correct students spelling "potato" like Dubya Bush. He'd probably demand all books change potatoes to french fries.
Ooops. In my mind Quayle and Dubya were/are interchangeable as candidates from Republican National Central-casting for politicians. Quayle's gaffe probably explains why the Repugs were so gung-ho about the No Child Left Behind Act, one of the early signs of how they planned to destroy public education. The Project 2025 plans for the future of education in the USA will essentially produce generations of dumb, poor citizens who are nothing more than serfs to the "Christian" elites. The Founding Fathers are probably proud that the Repugs have found ways to make the Amendments of our Constitution worthless and unenforceable. Sigh.
There is a bottle of real Champaign in our fridge waiting for the day he is removed from office - whether it be by the court, by vote or by the Grim Reaper. I'll be willing to add more if folks want to swing by. :-)
Please learn to correctly spell the beverage of choice when you celebrate. The sparkling wine is Champagne. Scotch is properly called Whisky. I'll happily toast his demise with either, but only if spelled correctly. Hell, I'd drink a Diet Coke is he kicked tomorrow, natural causes or no.
I also don't wish death on anyone, but that's not going to stop me from lighting our leftover fireworks when he leaves the presidency, no matter how it happens. One can only hope that the damage he does is not irreparable.
I don't believe you. I wish death on Trump, his cronies and the sycophants who enable him. The other day I posted here about how vile and mean spirited his administration was, using as my example, the country of Zambia. They receive aid to manage the high incidence of three infectious diseases that are endemic there: HIV-AIDS, malaria, and TB. That aid, which costs about 1 billion dollars a year is to be withheld unless the government there signs over leases for exploiting mineral wealth and suspension of environmental protections for the surrounding rivers and lands. It is not only extortion and theft, it is murderous and venal. It is mean spirited. And they are doing this to a small country in East Africa that has never participated in the behaviors that those Americans deplore. This is just meanness. The other day, when I read this and responded to something Clay had written with a rant, I called this the single most unnecessary act of cruelty I had ever seen perpetrated by an American government. I want him and all his enablers to suffer the ravages of the diseases they are inflicting on about 1.8 million people, mostly women and children. I want them to suffer not only the ravages of the diseases, but their mortality. It is not benign neglect that tempts these shits. It is not red-lining, protecting their lily white world. It is greed and meanness of spirit. No more, no less. The penalty for that is dance. On their graves.
Being genteel in one's response to such evil, turning the other cheek, is not an option. They are out of control. We need an exterminator.
I agree, But death is too easy an answer. We have here a psychopathological administration. I want them to see themselves as we see them---if that is at all possible--- and to fail as publically as possible. To be a classic emblem of failure to be seen aas such by all.
I have been posting on and off for a month or two now, and we need to make an example of Trump. We don't need another president ever trying what this SOB has done. The only way to get that point across is to impeach him, have a trial, once convicted, and stand him in front of a firing squad. This will show that anyone who thinks they can bring fascism into our government we will not be allowed to happen. Harsh, maybe, but he needs to be the example of what not to do for those in the future of our country.
Loving this toon and blog...Most people wanted him in prison, but so much disappointment followed. There is nothing I would like better than to see him in orange, but what's the next best thing?
I like proof reader Hilary's sense of humor. Good cartoon and blog. I think Trump having some kind of human reaction to anything that happens would be a miracle.
Loved "If there is proof that there's not a God, it’s that Donald Trump has not been incarcerated yet.".
Serious shortage of old testament smiting, these days.
Or maybe we are in hell, but just don't know it.

He replied: "Not the one I'm looking for."
Good one! I LOVE it!
Like you I want him to spend time in prison after all of his property and money are confiscated in forfeiture.
That might actually pain him more than a prison sentence. It will also hurt his equally rapacious family.

You're a better man than I am.

Nixon also was far better at foreign relations and diplomacy than the Orange Creature could ever imagine to be.
Nixon was corrupt but he was at least more competent in his corruption that this circus of a regime. Nixon's arrogance and hubris was exposed. Trump's arrogance and hubris has been on display from Day 1.

I don't think he can read.

That was Dan Quayle.

I'm with proofer Hilary :-)
You should put that on a bumper sticker!

How about some cone yak or some corv-wa-sea-eh? Or perhaps just a brandy?
Ripple or MadDog2020 would do just fine. Hell, I'd toast him with Sterno.

Amen. As the religiously inclined say.

If you put him in orange he will be, effectively, invisible.
That works for me. Being invisible and therefore ignored will probably drive him even more nuts than he already is.
I like proof reader Hilary's sense of humor. Good cartoon and blog. I think Trump having some kind of human reaction to anything that happens would be a miracle.
As Steven King's t-shirt read, he can't wait to read Trump's big beautiful obituary. Amen.
Damn right !
