Pizza rat ain't stupid. He's laying low because you mentioned nibbling on groundhog, his cousin. Although I have always wondered: is there some kind of Louisiana recipe that could be adapted to make a spicy groundhog stew? With the trade war we must consider alternative sources for protein. On second thoughts ix-nay the Louisiana Spicy Ground Hog recipe. There are enough dumb people in the world that will confuse them with otters, decimate their populations and try to introduce otter hats as 21st century versions of beaver hats. I need to stop giving these suggestions to the hunters because the PETA people are probably mad at me (and you) now. 😁

Otters are great. Muskrats suck. I'm good with muskrat hats, or anything else you want to do with those line cutting dam destroying SOB's.

PS - From what I'm told, the only difference between muskrats and nutria is that nutria are bigger and more annoying. And invasive.

Muskrats, nutria...hmmm, more protein sources for non-vegans to consider since we're going to pay more for everything with those lovely tariffs starting this week. yay.

If you're going to eat either one, cut the scent glands out of the back legs as soon as they are killed. Otherwise, I'm told they'll taste like eating skunk stink.

Glands are easy to see, or so I'm told, so just cut em out before they stink up the meat.

Seriously, it's no worse than eating rabbit or squirrel.

NPG Bell so far wins the clever response prize. (Sorry, Richard.) And I betcha too that Louisiana has a recipe. (Curious, I’ll check later when also seeking info on long COVID & Mercury, the element not planet.)

Otters: they must appear here (Claytoonz, not DC where they’d be outlawed as immigrants) more. How brave of them to return.

Virginia: Or really the Parties existing peacefully. Wasn’t it John Boehner who instituted the Seersucker Day when Ds & Rs wore it & celebrated the Summery look & if he’d been here then, Obama would’ve instead of khaki .. in which I thought he looked dapper.

DC: We the people even the civil servants vote far more Blue, and the District should stop being the stand in name for the Hill (place not media) & the WH.

This blog version: Thanks for long, a reminder of VA pols past (shudder at mention of Allen) & present.

VGoBlue!

I don't know if there are groundhogs in Louisiana, but I do know of people who eat weird things. I've had my share of squirrel and a lot of people thing mudbugs are disgusting.

I knew a guy in Mississippi who delivered newspapers at night and he'd aim for possums, raccoons, and armadillos crossing the street because his grandmother would cook them. I'm from Louisiana and even I found that disgusting.

We had gophers in Oklahoma. We had a farm there for little while. One of our cats would wait outside the hole for hours. Of course there are always more than one hole. They would just go out another. He never caught a thing. It was weird that none of our cats ever tried to attack our chickens. They were all well-fed though, even Fred-the would-be gopher hunter.

I've never met an animal I didn't like! Well ... except for a few of the human species. I don't blame the groundhog in your cartoon for not wanting to come out, and Pizza Rat is probably hiding in there with him! I wonder if they could make room for me ... ?

“but where is Pizza Rat?”

A. I have never seen Pizza Rat in any of your FXBG Advance Graphic Editorials.

B. Maybe that humongous worm ate Them. (Actually, that worm bears a strong resemblance to Pizza Rat’s Tail).

Anyway…

🥳 HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! 🥳

I loved that you took the time to write the blog, so no complaints here. Now the subject of otters I can totally get behind. Did you know they have pockets!?! They like to keep rocks in their armpits. Watching them float their arms over their heads smashing open mollusks is hilarious.
