He might be an MD, but he hasn't practiced in years. And he's an ophthalmologist. He knows crickets about infectious disease and how they work. He might be a hair better than brain worm, but not much.
Fauci refused to fall into the trap they had set for him and, quite wisely, decided to plead the 5th. Fauci is the one deserving an apology, certainly not the one having to give one to these a**holes! It figures that the diary came from Kennedy. (I didn't know that, but it fits.)
What a disgusting display--or should I say "show"?--the Homeland Security Committee put on.
Love the old classics: Hydroxychloriquine, Ivermectin, Bleach, plus the Voodoo Fauci doll, the bats, Goldie, and good ol' Peezy!
Do any of these whack jobs in Congress have a clue what they're in Washington to do? Is this what they truly believe their constituents elected them for? Perhaps they believe they won the lottery and a lifelong trip to the trough. Wonder if any one of them would know what to do as a Senator or Representative in real life. What poor excuses for human beings.
I have an MS in microbiology (from 1970). I still work in a lab, though it's in cytogenetics. I had a lot of interest in what was going on with Covid, and kept following the stories involving Fauci and other contributors. I feel that the first reaction (the shut-down) would have worked to contain the disease if it had behaved like other infectious diseases, like the flu. However, this disease worked differently, especially in that many people (including myself) had exposure followed by no symptoms or very slight symptoms while others got very sick with very similar exposures.
The connection with the Wuhan virology lab also raised important questions, and I remember digging into the evidence relating to whether the virus arose from animal exposure (the "wet markets") or that lab. I heard good arguments for both sides. I figured it could have been a situation where the virus arose from animal exposure and was studied in that lab, and somehow got out of the lab by accident. I have not worked on viruses but am aware of how difficult it is to study them without some risk of them escaping.
My conclusion was (and still is) that it is possible that the virus may have escaped the lab, but it was not engineered in any way to be a weapon. Most scientists would oppose weaponizing viruses, 1.) because it would be very hard to do. and 2). because it is most likely to backfire on the creators of it.
My opinion of Dr. Fauci was that he may have made some mistakes, but he did his best. I feel admiration and respect for him.
Keep up the good work, Clay. You are so correct on this one! One thing I have noticed in my career in scientific research is that a large number of MD's lack any real awareness of what constitutes proof in science. Rand Paul is a sterling example of that problem.
I laughed so hard I lost my breath when I saw Paul's hair I now know they are bats but I thought they were kittens!
So now something in the US Constitution is once again a privilege - no, the US Constitution was written for a purpose to protect the people of the USA. Taking the 5th is Dr Fauci's right and he is a very intelligent man so it was also his right to protect himself.
Things have gone weird to ridiculous. Thank you for capturing it so well.
So congress can obtain someone's personal diary, and print it unredacted, but not the Epstein files? Interesting. And yes, I saw someone post on FB a picture of Jim Jones next to Dr. Fauci, saying that both are responsible for people's deaths. And Bill Gates, too. I guess they forget that COVID was a GLOBAL pandemic, that began in other countries months before arriving in the U.S., that the vaccine was initiated during Trump's administration, and that Trump took the vaccine.
At least it's not Stephen Miller nesting in his hair.
haha
I wouldn't be too sure about that.
Damn...how we treated a hero...excellent and excellent blog.
just disgraceful!
Totally abysmal …. Rand Paul proved what a pusillanimous pissant pussy he is.
I love this so much, Clay! The bats!!!!!🦇 😂
couldn't happen to a nicer guy!
Where's Pizza Bat?
Yep. Bats in his hair explains his batshit behavior. The asshole is an MD; he knows how science works.
As we say down heah, that boy ain't right.
Bet he's still feeling emasculated by the beatdown by his neighbor.
He might be an MD, but he hasn't practiced in years. And he's an ophthalmologist. He knows crickets about infectious disease and how they work. He might be a hair better than brain worm, but not much.
Sur nuff Rand Paul is a hypocrite and a posing posturer.

Wait. WHUT. These whack jobs are trying to blame Dr. Fauci for taking measures to slow and stop the pandemic??!! WHUT. 😳 What the actual fuckety HEY.
Great cartoon and blog Clay. It's just... what the fuck.

Maybe Rand & Ron are dementia patients.

You are always spot on! Keep up the good work! ❤️
This is a strong one.❤️

If I were Dr. Fauci I too would have asked for fifth … a fifth of whiskey or a fifth of gin …
He drinks a whiskey drink
He drinks a vodka drink
He drinks a lager drink
He drinks a cider drink …
Pissing the night away…
Rand Paul literally pissed the night away with his idiotic attack on Fauci…
Dr. Fauci in retort:
I get knocked down (we'll be singin')
But I get up again (pissin' the night away)
You're never gonna keep me down (when we're winnin')
I get knocked down (we'll be singin')
But I get up again (pissin' the night away)
You're never gonna keep me down (ooh-ooh-ooh)
