Ditto. What he did was straight outta "South Pacific" ("There is nothin' like a dame") and he never should've resigned. Never. His intelligence is needed more than ever.

Every now and then the left seizes on some notion and goes insane with it. (The right just stays crazy all the time.) Me too was nuts, and I got yelled at online for saying so, and my daughters were sad at me.

I am a true and honest one hundred percent believer in people all being pretty much the same, and that's not always a good thing. It was OBVIOUS to me that going ME TOO would absolutely cause far righties to accuse people who'd done nothing much, like Biden smelling a woman's hair decades ago when that was not unusual. Because that's the down side of saying "I'll believe ANYTHING this class of people has to say". People lie and exaggerate for advantage. I've been lied about when someone thought it would advantage them. NO GROUP AT ALL is made up solely of angels. EVER!

I don't care who or what the group is, someone will claim to be a member of that group for political reasons or money reasons or just because of general evil, and they will lie. That's how people are. It's why we have judges, because someone has to decide who is lying. And judges aren't exempt, they can be corrupt.

It's not a perfect world. We have to deal with it with our eyes wide open.

Right now, we're winding up towards hysteria on micro plastic bits in soil. I have read and searched on this, and I have found not ONE mention of the fact, found in any decent college level microbiology text, that several species of bacteria naturally produce plastic shells for protection. Nor have I found anything stating that they are separating PHA's (bacteria plastic) from oil plastics. (Not that I'd bet against oil eating bacteria producing micro plastics, but they have not as yet been found, so moot point.)

Without a baseline, you cannot say how much levels of plastic are over the natural level you'd find anywhere at anytime. I did, however, find an archeologist who had a buried site tested and was frantic over finding plastic bits in it. Rather than starting a baseline or testing to see what kind of plastic it was, he was proposing entirely different standards for archeology.

Most of these tests seem to be simple microscopic counts.

Maybe I'm way off track here, but if so, why can't I find the source that says so? Instead I find stuff about the college student who cried when she found plastic in samples from remote areas.

Looks like an interesting mayoral race. We all keep saying we need new blood so we shouldn't complain about Mamdani.

Paul Davis's avatar

I'm not complaining. I will say that we need to keep track of the Democrats who show up to try to make Mamdani lose the race, and primary them ALL out of office.

Republicans have more than enough knives, Democrats do not need to stab each other in the back.

Yes, the So Cal coast is lovely, even, especially?, in the summer. Sunshine, sunshine and more sunshine. But once you get over the mountains, it gets warmer. I'm in Coachella Valley, take the I-10 east and you go through it. Semi-desert, Palm Springs at the foot of the mountains, Indio at the eastern end. I'm on the northern side of the I-10 across from Palm Desert. Average this time of year is 105 - yes, normal. We had a few days where we were in the 90s, nice and cool for us (at least out of the sun). But even the southern coast can get temps near the 100s. :-) I learned long ago I can tolerate warm more than cold, as long as it's not humid. Under 100 is a cooling trend. Under 110, bearable in the shade, 110 to 120, not much fun, stay in the shade. 120 - DANGER! Enjoy your visit, and come out our way before the summer heat really comes in.

Going to the fish market in LA and getting crabs. Mmmmm, crabs.

Fun fact, my daughter had a crab boil in SoCal and invited all the Latino's in the area. I was there and met them all. Friendly bunch. Supposedly, these folks like spicy food, but they sure couldn't handle Cajun style boiled crab. They were sweating and saying "this stuff is HOT!"

I thought it was hilarious.

Perhaps because it became my word of choice in 2016 and sorta tamed down during Biden and now is back in most every sentence - what I call "going full-on Roy Kent" - it didn't shock me. Tho' remember when Biden did it and the world just flipped out? Yep, different standards for good people v. felons.

That sort of auto cringe is why the claim of "Democrats can't be manly" sticks so easily. I'll tell you flatly, it's almost embarrassing seeing Democrats all unite in beating down any party member to tries to stand up for themselves. Remember how they treated AOC until she fought back and how damn popular she got for fighting back? You'd think that would have taught them something, but no.

It's like Emily Post was pitted against a gang of lumberjacks. Emily needs to take her umbrella and whack the tar out of a few of them and quit worrying that "the gowd peapole uff Bahstone" will get frantic because she showed a little spunk!

My theory about the f-bomb was because he realized he had f**ked up and his wonderful beautiful B2 bombs piloted by wonderful pilots who are so “hurt” by the facts they had to call him up and complain - I know a few US Air Force pilots and I can tell you they would never be “hurt” by a few words. Those pilots are people you do NOT mess with and they look at the facts. If they are “hurt” it is because someone - probably the commander in chief - gave them sh*t intel.

On the note of the democrat NY candidate - that might also be the reason for the f-bomb because he now realized the new dems are using his methods against him. Karma is a bitch, orange one!!! Or is it what goes around, comes around ? I forget….:-/

Music video - “Bomb Iran” parody of the Regents song ”Barbara Ann”. If you thought f-bombing by a US president was at the limit, posting a parody video of bombing another country has to be the lowest the USA has ever reached.

The NATO journalists giggles as the orange one ranted at the press conference are the best!!! And you go NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte - you are stroking that fragile ego like a pro but I have to ask what will the orange one shout about now that NATO have promised the 5%???? Deflated there? Pun intended…..

“Holy flipping Fucknuts, I might have to stay in SoCal all summer.”

I’m disappointed in you, Clay.

I thought that you have lived in Virginia long enough to be as Tough as Native-Born Residents of the DelMarVa Mainland (as opposed to the DelMarVa Peninsula), people who proudly drink a bottle of Gatorade (or beer) every 30 minutes and then proudly sweat out the entire contents of the bottle in the following 29 minutes.

Oh well… in spite of this character flaw, you are still one of The Best Graphic Editorialists In The World. 🫡👍👏😉
