Since I have not been following the news since the election, I had to search this South Korean issue, because I was of the belief that country needed our help to keep North Korea at bay. So now I'm really confused. Thank you for keeping me in the loop. Excellent toon and blog...and travel experiences.
I hope you have a good time throwing darts! When I lived in upstate NY, the adults on our street threw darts all the time. I had no talent in that area, so I just watched.
I’m enjoying your travel blog. It seems like you’re having a great time, and I’m living a little vicariously through you. I’m sure I’m not alone when I say thanks for taking a working vacation.
I give myself whiplash, one moment I think the world as I know it is coming to an end and the next think it might not be that bad, some Republicans may find their spines and want to hold on to their power and world.
Love the travel stuff. That hotel isn't used to people actually sitting at the desk and trying to write.
Coors Banquet Beer (the classic Coors) is the best of the American Macro Lagers. That's a low bar to clear, but it least has some flavor to it. Not that I would ever order one in Ireland. They do go down good at Coors Field, though.
One of the things I enjoyed about living in Germany was the menus being posted outside. You knew if it was a place you could afford before even going inside.
I took German for kindergarten and part of first grade. Then we moved to Ft. Bliss, and I took Spanish for the next 5 years. Our teacher told us she was teaching us the Spanish of Spain, not Mexico. She likened it to New York versus the south. The accents are different, as are the similes. One can basically understand all of the Spanish languages, but the nuances will be lost. She should have used British English versus the US English. That is a better example. She herself was from Juárez, and she said that the "Spanglish" spoken along the border was different from the Spanish spoken in Mexico City. That is the equivalent of NY and Georgia.
Being a volunteer librarian has taught me about languages I had never heard of. There is a portion of Spain that speaks Galician. I prefer that to classic Spanish. It doesn't seem to use the masculine and feminine forms of words. I always thought that was stupid thing for Spanish to do. Granted we have "waiter" and "waitress", but "the" and "a" don't change depending on the amount of items and the "sex" of the noun. Seriously a house ("casa") is a woman?! and shoes ("zapatos') are men?! The fact that Spanish has 4 different words for "the" is ridiculous. I know French does the same thing. It's a Romance thing.
May your comments about Coors being the beer of MAGAts spread throughout Ireland and put Coors (a big contributor to the Orange Menace) out of business! :) Good blog and toon today, Clay! And that horrible seat in your hotel room looks like something you'd find in a prison cell! Damn, your poor butt! What were they thinking??

I didn't throw darts. I was just invited to watch a league game. These were teams. It's actually very complicated. I don't understand it.
