"The last thing we need is for him to be a martyr." That's my biggest fear too.

Audrey Eve's avatar

Don't think I could stomach that!

BigDaddy52's avatar

Apparently, decimate is one of his favorite words, as he uses it willy-nilly, clearly not knowing the definition.

To that point, Iran's military and nuclear capabilities musta been YUGE, since he's decimated them so many times and they're still a threat. He'd prolly say he's decimated them like 1500%.

And the stupid moron thinks he can give orders to the military to be carried out after he's dead. Jeez.

Carl G Knoblock's avatar

Does he ever talk to the Generals directly, or only through kegsbreath?

Joan Eisenstodt's avatar

That was rhetorical yes?

BigDaddy52's avatar

Big, strong generals, in the room with us right now!

Rebecca Cantrell's avatar

Darn it. You're right. If he should be assassinated, they'll make a martyr out of him. We'll never get rid of him.

Susan Johnson's avatar

Damn. Excellent toon and blog.

If that little clot hiding somewhere in that bloated orange sack of rotting pus would just do its job, humanity would be saved. C’mon, clot, you have one job…

NPG BELL's avatar

Be careful. The spinmeisters would make that clot become some rogue vaccine of nano-bots injected by an antifa agent hiding in the WH medical office or wherever they're giving him his treatments. Couch-boy is probably salivating at the thought of using that propaganda to increase his chance of stepping into the Rust-Oleum / Krylon gold-leaf painted Oval Office. Thiel, Musk, Zuckie, et al probably have A.I. versions of the all the possible propaganda pieces lined up for release with a few computer keyboard strokes (pun intended). I don't know which is worse: old incompetent demented sleazebag or younger sycophantic sleazebag who channels Damien from the Omen movie series.

Bob Kent's avatar

How many times can you totally decimate a country???

Love the Mr. Herbert on the ear diaper!

David Yohalem's avatar

It's like Zeno's paradox. If you reduce the number by 10% each time, you'll never achieve an end.

NPG BELL's avatar

The half-lives of the radiation from our nuclear weapons are probably shorter.

David Yohalem's avatar

You make a point, but the half-life of Plutonium's half-life is 4.5 BILLION years. Just saying. But the essence of Zeno's paradox is that it approached infinity, even as it becomes infinitessimal.

CVG's avatar

Wait - you think he knows how to use a computer? OK, possible. But, you think he knows what a browser history is?

I thought it was the Islamic Republic of Japan. How did it move from the Pacific Ocean over to the Middle East?

Peter D's avatar

The only way to keep him from becoming a martyr is to put him in a very safe and secure place, I’m sure there’s a room for him at SUPERMAX.

NPG BELL's avatar

Or Gitmo with 24/7 cameras broadcasting worldwide. I'm sure that the Cubans will appreciate the attention and the irony.

I can't wait for all of this to end. Lately (or never) he has not done one good thing for the citizens he is supposed to serve. It seems it is all about commemorating him with his name going everywhere, building grandiose arches, ballrooms and even a festival dedicated to the 250th anniversary of our country's independence which was an abject failure.

It is so much worse this second time around and we still have 2 years to go.

I guess the good news in a perverse way is there is one less republican in the senate and possibly another in the near future.

Joan Eisenstodt's avatar

He dies, we get Vance. I’d rather they all be impeached - is that doable?

NPG BELL's avatar

It's doable but not highly probable given the inertia of Congress and the corruption of SCROTUS.

Joan Eisenstodt's avatar

Yeah, I know you’re correct. It astounds me how many are so afraid of him to do his bidding.

David Yohalem's avatar

Do you, Clay, really not wish death on anyone? I can think of several off the top of my head. I won't bother listing or naming them, but I DO wish they were no longer among the living. Please don't take this the wrong way: I find you brave in your opposition to what's going on both in the US and elsewhere, but I wonder at your disclaimer about not wishing anyone dead.

Clay Jones's avatar

Nope. I don't wish anyone dead, just as I am opposed to the death penalty. That is not to be confused with me wishing good things on people, either. And as Karen and her kitty cat point out, there are some obituaries. I look forward to reading. But no, I don't wish anyone dead.

I also believe in karma, and if you wish people did, it can turn around and come back on you. Wishing death on people is a bad habit, and it's one I don't intend to pick up.

David Yohalem's avatar

I am shocked to read you believe in the Hindu myth of reincarnation. Karma does not mean "what goes around comes around." My understanding is that the Vedic model (Hindu/Buddhist) suggests that in being reincarnated the sum of all our acts in previous lives is used to assign our souls to subsequent residences. It's bullshit, sure, but I am hoping for resurrection as a whistling marmot anyway. My calculations allow for a few deaths of enemies.

As an aside, my brother is a neo-Pagan priest. As a child he would sit, sometimes for days, and repeat "curse it, curse it, curse it,..." to "cause" a change in weather. When, after several days, it would rain he would claim causality. (He started weekly sessions with a psychotherapist when he was ten.)

David Yohalem's avatar

Save your sympathy for his younger brother. First attempted murder was when I was two months old. The pagan tied an iron to my ankle and tossed the iron out the window. Not that I remember, but our mother turned it into a "cute" family story. The behavior didn't stop.

Deborah solleveld's avatar

Omg ! And your parents did nothing?! I’m glad you survived. I hope you’ve been able to find a way, counseling maybe, to have a better life away from your childhood.

David Yohalem's avatar

It took them a while to figure out. I was a pretty well-adjusted kid. With a murderous brother. Not all that unusual. When he was in his late twenties he confessed to me that he hated me, but he was ok with it, because he didn't like me. I admit to feeling envy for friends who have good sibling relationships. Once, when we were walking home from school, some kids surrounded him and asked him "what kind of nut are you?" His answer was "some". I thought his response was both apt and funny. They beat the shit out of him. I didn't help.

Karen&HerKittyCats's avatar

Most likely, Clay is like most of us... we don't wish anyone dead, but we look forward to reading some obits in the near future. Was surprised to see SC needs to find a new senator this morning, wondering when KY will announce theirs. 🤔

David Yohalem's avatar

Thing is, KY will get a Dem Senator for Mitch's replacement. SC will get Nancy Mace.

Karen&HerKittyCats's avatar

Ugh, not Nancy Mace! That would be awful! She's crazy!

If Iran assassinates traitor tot, we will, in the words of Kool and the Gang, Ce-e-e-e-le-brate good times, COME ON! . . .

Audrey Eve's avatar

As it pertains to Trump, "Destroy, delete, and decimate" all sound good to me!

How quickly can we get this going?!

Jill Dennison's avatar

Apparently, Felon Trump believes that his life is worth more than the 93.2 million people in Iran. He's WRONG! His life isn't worth the paper it's written on, but those 93.2 million Iranians are something that Trump is not -- they are human beings! Good 'toon and post, Clay! Never before in my 75 years have I despised anyone as much as I despise Felon Trump!

Paul Davis's avatar

Time for another fake attempt on Trump.
