Trump puts the ass in assassinate

Yesterday, I wrote about how Trump took a second Air Force One home from the NATO Summit in Turkey this week as a security precaution because of new threats on his life from Iran.

Israeli intelligence informed the US that Iran had devised a new plan to assassinate Trump, which made the Secret Service move him from the brand-new, cushy Air Force One, which was donated by Qatar, to the old Air Force One, which is understood to be more protective.

Trump was so upset about the New York Times’ reporting on the change of airplanes and the security reasons that reporters were issued subpoenas by the Justice Department, though no one has been charged with any crimes yet. As usual, Trump is weaponizing the Justice Department to go after his perceived enemies, which include the press.

But you can understand why Iran would want to kill Donald Trump. In 2020, Trump ordered the drone strike that killed Iranian Major Gen. Qasem Soleimani. Early strikes in the war by the US and Israel killed the then-Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, leaving his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, as the new leader. Mojtaba Khamenei’s wife and son reportedly were also killed in the strikes.

At the funeral for Khamenei on Thursday, signs read “We Will Kill Trump.”

One person who was taking the threats seriously is Donald Trump who posted to social media, “1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat, pronounced in many corners of the Globe, to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate, the sitting President of the United States of America, in this case, ME!”

“Orders have already been given, and the U.S. Military is ready, willing, and able, for a one year period of time, subject to extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran - PRAISE BE TO ALLAH!”

Trump is probably hiding in a bunker right now, yet he still can't resist mocking Islam. You have to remember that Trump hid in the White House bunker during the George Floyd protests because he's a lily-livered coward.

I don't wish death on anyone, even Donald Trump, despite him being the most vile person on the planet and the worst president in American history. The last thing we need is for him to be a martyr.

Creative note: Laura told me that I should take out the words “decimate and,” because decimate is not a synonym for destroy. She’s right, of course, but I used “decimate and destroy” because it was part of Trump’s idiotic post.
