Excellent work. I will never understand how this weak POS gained the power to change the world. I hate him and his minions. I remember in my childhood the first time people of color appeared in ads. My parents were so angry. I couldn't understand it then or now.

That Cheerios commercial--OMG the anger on social media was astonishing! People were actually giving the back-stories of that couple like they lived down the street and were disgusting for the neighborhood.

CRAZY!!

I'm glad someone else remembers it.

I suppose next Groundhog's Day'll be a white ermine popping its head up and renamed to something like 'Trump's Spring Surprise for America'. Fuck this asshole. Also, thank you, Clay, for letting us know about Lowe's getting rid of DEI. I'm not sure where I'll get my hardware needs met since I won't shop at Home Depot anymore either. I haven't seen many other hardware stores around. :(

Ermine - a fine choice for Trump. A weasel by any other name is still just a damned weasel.

LOL! I'd forgotten that a weasel and ermine were the same animal! :)

According to Google AI, not quite. :-) Though they are part of the same umbrella family. But at least ermine have a value. Weasels, not really. But they're also known to be fierce predators for their size. Weasel is still a good name, but I prefer Snake. Snakes can kill people; weasels, no.

The current retreat from supporting human rights illustrates the difference between a solely profit-based business imperative and a genuinely market-based, people-focused dynamic. A healthy market-based economy is centered around what benefits human well being, driven by a mutual meeting of people's needs. Businesses that genuinely care about people have human rights as a fundamental principle, not as a marketing tool that can be swept away by the slightest winds of criticism. The ones capitulating to That Creature and his minions are showing how shallow (or nonexistent) their commitment to human beings ever was.

Also, my sympathies on having to draw That Creature again. I was really looking forward to seeing your version of Kamala Harris develop over the next four years.

Thing is, it's not going to "go back". Kids know each other, neighborhoods are more integrated, this is just trying to make back woods MAGA's in places with 95%+ White populations happy.

The backlash is going to be immense. The USA is ripe for change, and I don't think it's going to "pretend we're living in the past".

Sadly, Paul Davis, not every neighborhood: I moved to DC in ‘78 from Ohio. DC was then and for years, called “Chocolate City” for the majority Black population. Now the non-white diversity is East and South Asians. Housing prices are obscene. STILL there are few other places I’d live even if I obtained voting representation by moving. AND at this age (old) I look at adds for senior communities and wonder if the diversity of residents is as diverse as portrayed. So I’ll notice the ads and write to companies to say why it’s both unappealing & bad for business and do my best to shop at those who stick with their stated values.

Nice to hear your voice today, Clay. Your creativity every day gives me hope. I’m glad we have you to keep us motivated and aware of what’s going on in the world.

Sigh. This is not a nation I recognize nor that I wish to continue to be a part of. The constant barrage of hits over the past two weeks is demoralizing and depressing. Either we start fighting hard now with whatever tools 'n resources we have, or by this time next year, we will truly be living in a nation where we're afraid to leave our house.

Fine tooning, fine writing. After reading Enrich's Dark Tower, it's obvious that Deutsche Bank would ignore anything FFOTUS says.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent gave representatives of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency full access to the federal payment system late on Friday, according to three people familiar with the change, handing Elon Musk and the team he is leading a powerful tool to monitor and potentially limit government spending.

The new authority follows a standoff this week with a top Treasury official who had resisted allowing Mr. Musk’s lieutenants into the department’s payment system, which sends out money on behalf of the entire federal government. The official, a career civil servant named David Lebryk, was put on leave and then suddenly retired on Friday after the dispute, according to people familiar with his exit.

The system could give the Trump administration another mechanism to attempt to unilaterally restrict disbursement of money approved for specific purposes by Congress, a push that has faced legal roadblocks.

I still don’t understand. That and how in eliminating DEI they are dumping “A” too when it’s the law (ADA.) Why does everything have to be a court battle?
