Bomb Bomb Iran
Donald Trump's latest deflection
This is all new stuff, and I'm not well-researched on the events that began after I went to bed last night to now, so I'm going to ramble in today's blog. I muted my TV while I drew this cartoon, so I probably didn't learn that much since I found out about the attack when I woke up at 7 AM. Feel free to fill in the blanks in the comments.
First, this is bullshit. In the span of two months, we have attacked two nations. Trump is calling for regime change without using the term “regime change.” He literally captured the leader of Venezuela, and even then, they have not had a regime change.
Our nation forced a regime change in Iran decades ago, and it didn't work. We forced a regime change in Afghanistan, and it didn't work. We forced a regime change in Iraq, and it didn't work. We forced a regime change in Libya, and it didn't work. And as I pointed out, we forced a regime change in Venezuela, and guess what? It didn't work.
Donald Trump is calling for Iranians to overthrow their government, overlooking the fact that you don't force regime change with airstrikes. Let's hope a general doesn't tell him that, and he's still only listening to Pete Kegseth, perhaps the dumbest fucker who's ever been the Secretary of Defense, oops. I'm sorry, the Secretary of War. You know, it's starting to make sense now why they wanted to change that name so badly. These wars have nothing to do with defense.
For as fucked up, wrong, stupid, evil, greedy, and corrupt as the invasion of Iraq was, the George W. Bush administration did at least one thing the Trump regime is not doing. They tried to sell a reason for the invasion. Sure, they lied. They went from claiming it was about 9/11 until someone informed them that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, and then they made it about weapons of mass destruction. At times, they claimed it was because of how horrible Saddam Hussein was to his people. Saddam Hussein was horrible to his people, but you can never convince me that a bunch of Republicans care about what a dictator sitting on a shit ton of oil does to his people. We didn't seem to give a shit about what Saddam Hussein was doing to his people when we were arming him to fight Iran. And by the way, we never did find any weapons of mass destruction. But again, they try to sell us some bullshit.
Donald Trump, Pete Kegseth, and Marco Rubio haven't even tried to give us a reason for this war. Or at least they're not trying very hard. The Trump regime is claiming it’s about how Iran is treating its people, but if that's the case, then why is Israel joining in on the fight? Israel doesn't care about Iranians any more than our government does.
Or is it about Iran's nuclear program, because we have been in negotiations with them over their program? But wait. Donald Trump said that we had destroyed their nuclear program last June when he bombed them, again, with Israel.
When Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt called it a “dastardly betrayal” because we were in peace negotiations with Japan. This made it a sneak attack in our eyes. Didn't we just do the same thing as Japan did in 1941? Were our peace overtures, like Japan's in 1941, a ruse, a lie, a trick?
If our negotiations for peace with Iran were genuine and honest, then why didn't they work? I mean, we have the greatest negotiator in the world on our side in Donald Trump, or at least that's what he tells us all the time.
It should not be forgotten that we had an agreement with Iran that was preventing them from building a nuclear weapon program, but Donald Trump came into office in 2017 and threw it out. If he were able to get that same deal today that Obama got with Iran, he would sign it and call himself a genius.
And what happened to no more wars, which is what Donald Trump once ran on? Now, we have attacked two nations two months in a row. And one of those nations we had attacked just last June, eight months ago. Just how war-horny is Donald Trump? Should we just be thankful that he hasn't dropped bombs in Greenland…yet?
Donald Trump claimed that he opposed the invasion of Iraq (he didn't). So why is he attacking Iran without justification?
And where is Congress on this? The Trump regime has been building up our military presence in the Persian Gulf region for over a month, and during that time, the Republican-led Congress didn't do anything about exercising its powers in this. Trump has started a war with Iran without congressional approval. Now, some in Congress want congressional approval after the fact.
Or, at least Democrats want congressional approval. Republicans are perfectly happy to remain the lickspittle party that they are for Donald Trump.
The Trump regime has yet to give us a justification for this war, which most Americans did not want. The only reason I can see for this is to distract us from the Epstein files. How old was the girl who accused Donald Trump of sexual abuse with Epstein, 13? And why would Benjamin Netanyahu want to start a war to build a distraction for Donald Trump, who has given him everything he wants?
Benjamin Netanyahu is currently facing three trials for bribery, fraud, and breach of trust. Corruption like bribery, fraud, and breach of trust is a Tuesday for Donald Trump. Even though he hasn’t diddled a teenager, that we know of, Netanyahu would still love his own distraction.
I told you I was going to ramble, and there you go. I will probably think of more stuff that I‘ll wish that I had included. So again, feel free to bring your thoughts into the comments.
Creative note: Yesterday, I wrote an idea that I liked very much, and I had planned on drawing it today. As some of you know, and many readers ignore, I subscribe to several news alerts, and they informed me about the bombing campaign this morning. I went to bed by 1 AM, before the attack started.
I thought to myself, “fuck this war. I'm going with my original plans anyway.” And I did work on that cartoon for about an hour when this idea popped into my head, and I decided that I should go ahead and draw a cartoon on the war today.
No, I am not working on the other cartoon tomorrow because I really wanna stick to taking Sundays off, so maybe Monday. You're also getting a cartoon tomorrow drawn for the Fredericksburg Advance, which was drawn last week and held off for tomorrow.
Update on pizza rat snow video: Remember the video I shared with you yesterday, where I said several readers and friends were sending it to me (and another person just posted it on my wall within the last 10 minutes)? Despite having it sent to me nearly 20 times, I never bothered to read the caption, and neither did anyone who sent it to me. As it turns out, Yep. You guessed it. The video is a fake. It is AI.
Thank yous: I visited the post office yesterday, and I got some stuff.
Someone sent me this book, and I don't know who. It was mailed from Amazon Fulfillment Services. Maybe it's from you, and we talked about it, and I don't remember. I had a stroke. But to whoever sent it, thank you very much. I haven't read it yet, but it looks brilliant.

As you know, people send me rat stuff. I received this pin yesterday from Dale. It doesn't just feature a rat, but a pizza rat. I love it. Thank you very much, Dale.
Thank you, Susan, for the card and the donation. You rock.
Taylor (who wrote that he initially thought I was black, which is not the first time) sent me some stickers of a symbol he's trying to make viral, and he's hoping I will include it in some of my cartoons. Thank you very much, Taylor. I'm very flattered that you sent me this, and you want to involve me. I will think about it, but keep in mind, I'm really not an activist. I don't join causes. I think of myself as a one-person cause. I do like your logo, and I love getting stickers, so one of them is going on my drawing table, which is covered in stickers.
What do my readers think of the logo?

Signed prints and books: I cannot take orders for signed prints or for my books at this time. So please do not send me money or place orders for them until further notice. Because of the stroke, it is an ordeal for me to get to the post office, so we’re gonna hold up until I’m fully capable of doing so. Thank you for your understanding.
Merch: Did you know there’s a Claytoonz store? My cartoons are printed on mugs, clothing, caps, and even a Peezy T-shirt. If you ever want a specific cartoon on some merch, let me know, and I’ll add it.

Great toon Clay, and a good blog.
I do believe the answer to the question was "Thirteen, and she bit him when he stuck it in her face". When I heard that, my reaction was "You go girl!" (Thirteen at that time, of course.)
I think people are missing the real reason behind the attacks though. Trump is all about paying back billionaires and making them happy, and they want higher oil prices. MUCH higher. The MAGA's are getting screwed again, and doubtless cheering for it. Also, Trump is acting like a servant to Israel, and many are saying that the prevalence of Israeli banks and money in the Epstein files shows that Epstein was selling blackmail material to them. Could be the explanation as to why our government jumps any time they say "PEPE!" And Pepe is a dead frog!
You want the AI synopsis, type "oil majors complaining about low oil prices" into Google, you'll get the idea. The only thing keeping them going now is high stock dividends, and they can't pay those if the price of oil stays near 60 bucks a barrel. Iran produces 3% or more of the world oil supply, which all goes to China. As far as Trump is concerned, that's a win/win/win - Happy Israel/Happy billionaires/Sad China.
That he's kicking MAGA in the gonads again is just a nothing burger to Trump.
No doubt all true. Meanwhile I’m thinking how tedious drawing all those rockets must have been.
