Will Republican hatred of childless women, especially non-white women, extend to Simone Biles?

I sometimes add a note at the bottom of my blogs telling my readers what music I listened to while creating my cartoon, but I don’t always listen to music while drawing. Today, I watched CNN (yeah, they dropped me but I still watch them) and the opening ceremony for the Olympics.

I LOVE the opening ceremony for the Olympics. right now, Parguay is entering. I love watching the nations enter and seeing their flags, colors, uniforms, how many athletes each nation sent, and all the faces. It’s all non-political except when North Korea, Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, or Israel enter. The athletes are entering on boats this year (over 80) with most teams sharing boats. Despite the nations entering alphabetically, the Olympic Committee made sure not to have Iran, Iraq, or Israel share the same boat.

One thing I love about the opening ceremony is seeing the host nation display its culture. During the ceremony for the United Kingdom’s Olympics in 2012, they celebrated their national healthcare system. Japan showed off its technology and performed an incredible display with lighted drones when they hosted the last Summer games. France is showing off its culture through music, art, architecture, fashion, and other Frenchy stuff. Watching today made me wonder what culture of ours we’ll display when we host the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028 or the Winter Olympics in 2034 in Salt Lake City.

What will the USA roll out to display its culture… guns and cheeseburgers?

Maybe as an example for our culture, we do roll out the guns and cheeseburgers, because that’s how the world sees us and they’re not wrong. I could go for a cheeseburger right now. But since the world also knows us for being a racist nation, we should display that too.

We’re racist, sexist, antisemitic, homophobic, and with short memories. France is where democracy was born and the United States is where it’s going to die.

After Donald Trump lost the 2020 election, he refused to leave office peacefully and tried to remain through a white nationalist insurrection. Despite this, most American voters are telling polls he’s their choice for president in 2024.

The election of Donald Trump proves we’re a racist nation. The fact he leads today proves we’re a racist nation. It was our Electoral College, created so slave states could have its share of power and influence, that installed Donald Trump into the White House despite losing the popular vote to a woman who was much more qualified than he was…and still is. Trump “winning” shows we’re also sexist.

In 2024, he’s going to lose the popular vote again, this time to a Black woman who’s also much more qualified than he is, yet he may win the election. And the sexist racist Republican Party is calling her a DEI-hire. They’re claiming a Black woman who was elected to become the District Attorney of San Francisco, Attorney General of California, United States Senator from California, and Vice President of the United States is not qualified. Meanwhile, the guy they’re supporting has never won the popular vote in a presidential election or held any public office before he ran in 2016.

Republicans think a racist grifting corrupt bankrupt businessman reality TV show host and multi-indicted felon who only got what he has through his father’s loans is more qualified than a Black woman who’s been a career servant for the people.

Based upon their history, I expect Republicans to ignore Simone Biles’ accomplishments and claim she isn’t qualified and instead, label her a childless cat lady DEI-hire.

I expect Ms. Biles, a strong Black woman, to take the Gold…and I hope Ms. Harris, another strong Black Woman, does the same.
