Donald Trump and other MAGA idiots are claiming President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are redirecting funds from FEMA to “illegal” aliens. This is a lie and the vileness of it is increased by using a disaster to score campaign points. When Donald Trump tells a lie, his cult will believe it forever. Many of them still believe Mexico will pay for his stupid racist monument to himself disguised as an effective border wall.
Trump said at one of his hate rallies in Michigan last week, “They stole the FEMA money, just like they stole it from a bank, so they could give it to their illegal immigrants that they want to have vote for them this season.”
That’s three lies in one sentence which comes naturally to Donald Trump.
The Biden administration did NOT steal money from FEMA and give it to “illegal” aliens, non-citizens DO NOT VOTE in our elections, and most of the immigrants MAGAts are screaming about are NOT illegal.
It’s racist and dehumanizing to look at someone and assume they’re not “legal” by the color of their skin or from where they came from. Stop it.
Even the goons who are supposed to be adults, like Speaker Mike Johnson, are pushing the lie.
Johnson told Fox News Sunday, “But the problem is with the American people, see, and what they're frustrated by, is that FEMA should be involved. The Federal Emergency Management Agency, their mission is to help people in times like this of natural disaster. Not to be engaged in using any pool of funding from any account for resettling illegal aliens who have come across the border. That's what the Biden administration, Kamala Harris, and Secretary Mayorkas have been engaged in.”
That’s not true and since Congress controls the federal government’s purse strings, Johnson knows this. He’s a big fat zealot liar. Coming from Marjorie Taylor Greene, who thinks the Democratic Party is causing these hurricanes to hit red states close to the election is one thing, but coming from the Speaker is inexcusable.
The lies are so prevalent, that FEMA had to debunk them on their website, stating, “This is false. No money is being diverted from disaster response needs. FEMA’s disaster response efforts and individual assistance is funded through the Disaster Relief Fund, which is a dedicated fund for disaster efforts. Disaster Relief Fund money has not been diverted to other, non-disaster related efforts.”
Yes, the federal government sends money to communities to help handle the influx of migrants and funds have been diverted from Customs and Border Patrol TO FEMA, not FROM FEMA.
Trump went back to Butler, PA, and he obviously wasn’t afraid of any fact-checkers taking a shot at him because he told this whopper: “They’re offering them $750 to people whose homes have been washed away. And yet we send tens of billions of dollars to foreign countries that most people have never heard of. They’re offering them $750. They’ve been destroyed. These people have been destroyed.”
Note: I do not correct typos or grammar in quotes. I let them stand as is.
If MAGAts have never heard of the countries we’re sending money to then they need to get a fucking education. You can’t gripe when you don’t know what you’re talking about. Oh, wait. That’s exactly what they do.
But Trump is referring to the Serious Needs Assistance program and the $750 is an initial direct relief payment intended to help cover emergency supplies like food, water, baby formula, and other basics. At least the initial relief of $750 is more than what Trump pays in taxes.
At any rate, Republicans should stop creating lies about FEMA, its funding, its capability, and what it’s accomplishing when they always vote against funding it.
Last week, Congress approved $20 billion for FEMA. In the Senate, 18 Republicans voted against it with 82 saying “no” in the House. Some of those who voted against are shitweasels from yee-haw states hit by Hurricane Helene and facing Hurricane Milton, like Matt Gaetz, Byron Donalds, Mike Collins, Kat Cammack, Andrew Clyde, Tim Burchett of Tennessee, Aaron Bean, Gus Bilirakis, Dan Bishop, Jeff Duncan, Russell Fry, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Laurel Lee, Anna Paulina Luna, Nancy Mace, Thomas Massie, Rich McCormick, Cory Mills, Ralph Norman, Scott Perry, Bill Posey, John Rose, William Timmons, Mike Waltz, Daniel Webster, Marsha Blackburn, Ted Budd, Bill Hagerty, Rand Paul, and Tim Scott.
These goons are like, “Well, my community is being flooded and destroyed and my constituents are suffering, but it’ll really impress Donald Trump if I vote against them.”
Mike Johnson is flaking out on bringing the House back to vote on emergency funding to provide billions of dollars in requested supplemental disaster funding for FEMA. Homeland Security Secretary Alexander Mayorkas has said FEMA doesn’t have enough money to cover this hurricane season.
What’s weird is that Johnson said FEMA has enough funding while also enabling Trump’s lie that Biden and Harris are stealing from FEMA to give money to “illegal” immigrants.
They do want them to receive more than $750, right?

My hope and prayer is that normal people, independent people, moderate Republicans, your average white middle class soccer mom, and anyone else who has not consumed the MAGA QAnon lemonade will ruminate about this in the voting booth. They'll think about if they really want four (or more) years of this BullS$%t and having Trump dominate the news cycle, and more representatives like MTG, Gaetz, Boebert etc and then we'll have a nice large landslide for Kamala Harris.
May the RICO (Republican In Claim Only) Party be slammed at the national, state and local levels in 2024, like 2022 and 2020, only so very much more decisively. May they fight internally for the soul of the party and split into 2, 3 or more parties. And may we return to a time when our leaders want to deliver services more than gather likes and clicks.
If the ability to lie is the new test for being POTUS, Trump will swamp Harris.
The media is all in for Trump. That's because Harris is not buying time on traditional media, she's making her buys on streaming media and internet ads that don't put money in CNN's owners pockets. So they're very willing to endlessly repeat Trump lies, and take up Trump lines, like talking about the "Harris Administration". WTF happened to Biden eh? It's just nuts!
The election WILL be affected by the hurricanes, that's certain. Wonder how impressed the MAGA's would be if Biden started throwing paper towels at people? I wonder how much will be left of "The Villages" by this time next week? Milton's track is forecast to strike right over The Villages, the conservative backbone of Florida.
I can tell you this for an absolute fact, I work just around the corner from the CEFMS HQ for the Memphis USACE. That's the Corps of Engineers Financial Management System for the Memphis region US Army Corps of Engineers, if you don't like the acronyms. I came past there at about 6:35 this morning. The parking lot was full, and I'd be they've been there since at least midnight. They start work at eight.
Normally, the Memphis District would not be working on a disaster in Florida thru North Carolina, that's the guys in the South Atlantic Division, not Mississippi River Valley. Obviously, they've been told to help get supplies into the damaged areas. There's no other reason for them to be working on an overtime basis.
