Welcome to my new Substack. First off, an introduction.

In case you don’t already know me, I’m Clay Jones. I’m an award-winning self-syndicated political cartoonist and I created this Substack so I can survive. I am very liberal and I don’t like Donald Trump. I have opinions on everything from white nationalist MAGAt fascists trying to overthrow the government to Taylor Swift to pineapple on pizza to ketchup on hotdogs.

For the past five years, I have been drawing a weekly cartoon for CNN Opinion which just ended. Before I started with CNN, I was self-syndicating my cartoons to newspapers throughout the nation. Unfortunately, I lost half of those newspapers during the pandemic and relied more and more on the income from CNN. As Scooby might say regarding my contract with CNN ending, "Rut-Roh…what now? Substack now, that what now.

Over the past several years, I’ve been allowing readers free access to my cartoons, daily blogs, time-lapsed videos of the cartoons being drawn, and rough versions of the cartoons and ideas that never made it past the rough stage. Now, I’m moving most of that stuff over here from my website, Claytoonz. You can still read all my work here for free but I’m really hoping you’ll be a paid subscriber for the measly amount of $8 a month.
