During Vice President Kamala Harris’ interview on Fox News, host and formerly respected journalist Bret Baier asked her a loaded question, if she thinks Trump supporters are stupid.
That one question is another example of Baier doing Trump’s bidding during the interview. There are tough questions and then there are baited ones. He was attempting to trick Harris into her own moment of Basket of Deplorables. Nice try, but she didn’t take the bait.
Bret Baier is at least a good enough a journalist to know he did a terrible job with the interview. He knows because he’s admitted he messed up when he showed a clip of Trump edited out of context, which he should have admitted during the interview and not two days later (you got caught). He knows he lost the debate, I mean interview because he’s the one whining about it. Usually, it’s the politician who complains about not being treated fairly, not the host.
Again, Republicans make themselves out to be victims when their schemes don’t work out.
Baier is whining that Harris and her team showed up late. He described it as “icing the kicker.” That’s a good analogy and if its correct, that means he was outsmarted by Harris. The interview still began on schedule. He’s complaining he only got 27 minutes when promised 30 (wah, they stole three minutes), but did he promise he would be tough but fair? He wasn’t. He conducted himself as an advocate for Trump and interrupted Harris 38 times.
Donald Trump gave Baier a longer interview last year and was interrupted much less.
CNN’s Brian Stelter went back to Baier’s interview with Trump and Baier’s first question was: “What do you think is the most important issue facing the country right now?” Forget softball, that question was a whiffle ball.
Baier’s first question for Harris (that he interrupted 20 seconds into her answer) was: “How many illegal immigrants would you estimate your administration has released into the country over the last three-and-a-half years?” Note that he used the words “illegal” and “released,” as if the administration has been rounding them up to place into the country. The question included an accusation. That’s shitty journalism, but this is Fox News.
Back to Baier’s question at hand. Are Trump supporters stupid? Yes. The vast majority of Trumpers are stupid, dumb, morons, idiots, fucknuts, fuckwits, pillocks, schmucks, and dimwits. They believe immigrants are eating cats and dogs in Ohio, kids are getting sex-change operations at schools, Democrats are manipulating the weather, and Donald Trump was a good president (sic).
Of course, not all Trumpers are stupid, and those are the real scary ones. Those are the guys who know Trump’s a danger to this nation and are fine with it, and that means they want a racist fascist nation that steals rights away. There’s something wrong with all Trumpers, but there’s something really wrong and demented about the ones who know what they’re doing in supporting him.
Sometimes it’s hard to tell between the stupid Trumpers and the smart ones, like when they ask, “How is Donald Trump a racist?” You have to be stupid not to see that Trump is a racist because the track record is too long to hide. The smart ones who ask that question are defending a racist they support.
Another question is: Are Trump supporters racist? What we do know for sure is that racism isn’t a deal-breaker for them. There are intelligent racists, and those are the scary ones.
Smart people have joined cults before, right? That’s not rhetorical as I really wanna know. Do intelligent people get sucked into cults?
But if you really need evidence that Trumpers are stupid, and listening to Ben Carson doesn’t convince you, look what happened in Texas at a recent charity auction.
If you hate Taylor Swift and want the entire world to know it, you can accomplish that without spending $4,000. And if you want to know who else hates Taylor Swift, just type her name on social media. The haters will turn up like it’s free Chick-fil-A at a Trump rally.
A couple weeks ago in in Waxahachie, Texas at the Ellis County Wild Game Dinner, a charity auction that supports agricultural education for local youth, a man by the name of Gary Estes purchased a guitar signed by Taylor Swift for $4,000. A few moments after winning the guitar, he smashed it with a hammer. Who brings a hammer to an auction?
The big shocker in this, since it was Texas, is that the guy didn’t shoot the guitar.
I’m one of those people who usually have to look away when gore is in a movie or TV show (except for zombie gore which doesn’t affect me as much). It’s the same way when a guitar is smashed. I don’t care who’s doing the smashing, Pete Townsend, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Stanley, or Kurt Cobain…I can’t watch. How can you destroy a guitar? Maybe a PRS or one of those fiberblass-backed Ovations, sure…but I’d still have to look away.
These amazing musicians and Paul Stanley destroy guitars out of showmanship. Cobain’s guitar tech would piece it back together to destroy it again at the next show, and even make it playable. Gary Estes destroyed the guitar he purchased out of hate. The hate is strong with him
Estes later said it was meant as a joke and “There was nothing malicious or anything about it. It was just a joke at an auction that we had to raise money for kids, right? And that's all it was. There was nothing mean about it, nothing bad about it.” Wrong. I smell bullshit. He was trying to “own the libs.” You don’t do that by donating $4,000 to charity.
It’s like Kid Rock, another Trumper, protesting Bud Light doing a promotion with a trans person by buying cases of the beer to shoot with an assault rifle.
Estes performed his stunt shortly after Swift endorsed Kamala Harris and Donald Trump responding with “I hate Taylor Swift.” It’s easy to see whose side Gary Estes is on. But wait. It gets better.
This guitar doesn’t have a letter of authenticity, it has the wrong font for the Eras Tour, the wrong logo for the Eras Tour, and the Swift team that works with her merchandise says it was never signed by Taylor. The auction claims it has a letter of authenticity but they’re going to need a letter of authenticity for their letter of authenticity.
Who are you going to believe, the team that works with the person who supposedly signed the guitar or a yee-haw auction in Texas?
So again, are Trumpers stupid? I think they answer that question in the affirmative daily with their own words and actions, like spending $4,000 on the wrong guitar just to smash it with a hammer.
Also, only stupid people vote for stupid people.

Let's not spend time worrying about the MAGAists, the QAnonists, and the White Christian Nationlists. They are solid for Trump and won't be swayed. You can call what you want to call them, they're far gone.
Let's work on the moderate Republicans, the old style Republicans, the Independents and people who voted for Trump in 2016 because they didn't like Hillary and they didn't know Trump that well, but felt he wouldn't be TOO bad.
In 2020, enough of them voted for Biden, because they knew who and what Trump is/was and while they didn't know Biden, they felt he wouldn't be too bad.
In 2024, they know who and what Biden is and didn't like their current personal micro economics and want to blame someone, though POTUS doesn't really control the economy, nor the weather. They know who and what Trump is and might have been ready to vote for him, versus Joe, just to have a change and to vote their mind.
But the deck got shuffled, and now we have Kamala. While she's been VPOTUS, 98% of us understand the VPOTUS does only what the POTUS is willing to let them do and they have no real control of someone else's administration.
So...in 2024, they know who and what Trump is and we hope enough of them don't like Trump, don't want to hear the Bronx Billionaire Bully everyday in their news feed, don't want Donald and a competent set of jackals (Project 2025) deciding how they will their lives.
While they don't know Kamala, hopefully they've seen enough of her in the last couple of months to decide she'll be a decent enough POTUS that they will vote for her.
My expectation is that she wins in a landslide. Trump gets his core and ZERO beyond it. Kamala gets her core and almost EVERYONE who is ready to MOVE ON!
Brilliant toon and blog.
