Do we have to have this shit for at least two years? WTF is happening to us? I feel so anger and Resentment. Disbelief. Like you stated in this toon and blog.

If we're lucky it's 2 years, which I suspect is right. Might be one year if the "stable genius" starts the tariffs right away. This pretty much how I feel: https://www.thebulwark.com/p/a-modest-proposal-let-trump-be-trump?utm_campaign=email-half-post&r=9tet7&utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

GOD BLESS YOU SIR..... there is a lot of healing that needs to happen... many of my friends are hiding under their beds watching Sex in the City reruns..... not me.... AND YOU. I wonder how soon we'll be drawing toons around voters crying BUT WE DIDN'T THINK HE WOULD DO IT.

I am just waiting for him to do some of the things he said he would and when the MAGAs say I didn't expect him to do it I will rub it in their faces including my #2 who is not only MAGA but the big Q as well. Many of them said he won't do what's in the Project 2024 manual just wait till he does and all hell is going to break loose.

They'll find a way to blame Democrats. Dear Leader can do no wrong.

When it became apparent that Hair Gropingfuror won the election, I made one last effort to talk with MAGAts. I asked them why they were so upset that Kamala Harris didn't rush out and concede when he never conceded in 2020 and then tried to lie and cheat his way to victory up and including leading an insurrection to overturn a legal election (although she did graciously do so the next day). Actual anger on their part. It's apparent that too many in the U.S. have taken leave of their sensibilities and have bought into the Alice-In-Wonderland delusions, hypocrisies, lies, racism, hate, etc.

Thank you, Clay, for the toon and your words.

I’m thinking of an older song by the then-Dixie Chicks (now just The Chicks, as I guess we all know): “Not Ready to Make Nice.” That’s me right now. I have a friend and former neighbor who posted the most awful things about Harris over the last few weeks. Mostly, I just scrolled on by, but I did comment a couple of times when I thought he went too far. On Wednesday, he posted this (not tagging anyone in particular): “The election is over. Can we be friends again?” I read that and knew, just KNEW, he would have never posted that if Harris had won. Funny thing is, I remember a time, before the primaries in 2016, when he despised trump, telling me, “He’s an idiot.” But when trump secured the nomination, he fell in line like a good Republican and became full-on MAGA. I didn’t respond to his query, but he did message me a day later, just asking how my husband and I are doing. I answered, and kept it light. The thing is, I’m not angry at him, but neither do I feel like I want to act like things are the same as always. Over the last 8 years, I’ve seen a side of him I never knew was there. Oh sure, I knew he and his wife were die-hard Republicans, but that didn’t matter until I saw how different they both are since trump entered politics. And he’s not the only one. I’m way more liberal than most of my family and friends, but after seeing how much they are still solidly behind that dope trump, I feel like I need to take a step back from them. I can’t do much about family members, because I have to see them from time to time. But everyone else is negotiable right now, and I’m not sure I have it in me to spend time with people who continue to be hard-core Followers of the Orange Felon.

What happened? I blame forty years of neoliberal economic policies enthusiastically adopted by both parties gutting the jobs that paid well along with vast investment by libertarian billionaires in unfettered propaganda media at the local levels to influence elections that feed into the national level.

I read GoComics daily. The cartoonists that I really object to are the ones who flat out use easily rebutted lies. Goodwyn had one not that long ago that had me furious as it was so easy to prove he was lying - he was lucky that GoComics stopped comments, though they're supposed to start them again (I guess they got tired of the troll named Fern). Santis drives me up the wall sometimes, though I actually like Prickly City and was ticked when the LA Times stopped carrying it. The one I can't figure out is Ted Rall. He seems to be smart, but his positions are often incomprehensible. He hates everyone, yet can't see the reality in front of his nose.

Ted is definitely an intelligent person. Yeah, he's crazy and I don't care if he reads this. In fact, he'd probably take it as a compliment. He is a contradiction. Scott is a conservative but a throwback to when you can agree to disagree. He's not a Trumper. They're both friends of mine.

Your toon is perfect. Probably not going to click on those other names. Sorry to hear about Steve. He used to be such a good combination of talented and handsome. Haven't seen him in years. Random thought: if we are still teaching civics in high schools, teachers will have a much easier time explaining jury nullification since this election.

I used to enjoy talking to Steve. He was a very pleasant and funny person to talk to. At the earliest stages of my career, he was someone I looked up to and would take advice from. I'm sorry that whatever happened to him happened.

It has been said, that Biden made normal look too easy. Clinton made running the country look easy, so we got idiot Bush. Biden made "back to normal" look easy, so we got Trump, again.

People have no memory at all. They were screaming they were better off four years ago, standing in line for toilet paper and crying over their lost jobs. No memory and no sense.

Democrats can't run any more "normal" campaigns. And they have to assume the media will be against them, as they were this time. The media loves Trumpy nonsense, because it's all click bait. And that's what they love.
