Rand Paul's committee is holding Dr. Fauci in contempt

There is a possibility that Dr. Anthony Fauci ends up in prison for his refusal to cooperate with Rand Paul's Senate committee. But how likely is it? Not very.

Dr. Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right more than 100 times during a July 29 hearing before the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. Why would he do that when he has already received a pardon by President Joe Biden?

Republicans were not trying to get to the truth of anything. They weren't really looking for answers. They were just looking to punish Dr. Fauci.

The committee voted along party lines to send a referral to the DOJ. Usually, after a committee votes yes on a referral, it is then sent to the full Senate, where it would need 60 senators to vote yes to pass. Despite being an idiot, Rand Paul knew that he does not have those votes, so he kind of cheated to send the referral to the DOJ. Paul said, in order not to "waste time," he would refer the committee's vote directly to the Justice Department. The fact is, Republicans don't have much time left, as they may not control that committee after January because they are in very real danger of losing the Senate to the Democrats.

Now, it will be the DOJ's decision on whether or not to bring a case against Fauci before a grand jury…a Washington DC grand jury. Keep in mind, this DOJ is led by Todd Blanche, who is Donald Trump's flying monkey and previously brought the ridiculous seashell case against James Comey. So yeah, he probably will attempt to prosecute this case.

Can they get an indictment from a grand jury in Washington, DC? That can go either way because we saw a DC grand jury indict a former Olympian for charges of vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which were later dismissed by the US attorney for Washington, DC, Jeanine Pirro, because she didn't have all the evidence. But we also saw a DC grand jury refuse to indict a man for throwing a sandwich at Border Patrol agents, which was another ridiculous case even though he was clearly on video throwing the sandwich.

But if a grand jury in Washington, DC does send the case to a court trial, it would be up to a Washington, DC judge to fine Dr. Fauci or send him to prison for up to a year.

For a judge in Washington, DC to find Dr. Fauci guilty, he would have to be a judge who hates the Constitution as much as Rand Paul and Republicans do, and agree with them that Fauci should not have been allowed to exercise his Fifth Amendment right, which is guaranteed to all Americans.

What is the likelihood for all of those dominoes to line up and fall so Republicans can get what they want and send Dr. Fauci to prison?

Now remember, Rand Paul said he did not want to “waste time.”

New blood pressure monitor:

Yesterday, a reader commented that I should be wary of my new blood pressure monitor as it may not be accurate. This is a monitor that wraps around your wrist instead of your bicep. Several reviews on Amazon expressed the same concern about its accuracy. I have compared it a few times to the one where the cuff goes around my bicep, and the systolic has always been the same on both devices while the diastolic has been a little off, usually lower on the wrist version.

So I did this comparison last night and took a photo, and the systolic and the diastolic were the same on both devices. So if you are thinking about buying one of these devices, I would not worry about the accuracy. This was a pretty cheap device that cost $25, and it was the top-rated one on Amazon. It's going to California with me in September.
