Donald Trump claims he’s a great deal maker and nobody is better than he is. In fact, he has a book titled Art of the Deal. But Trump actually sucks at deals. He didn’t even write Art of the Deal and there’s plausible doubt he’s even read it. It’s not like he kept it on his nightstand like he does with Mein Kampf.
Sometimes his shitty abilities at making deals is a good thing. It worked out for all the Trump University students who sued him because he settled and lost millions. It worked out for the nation because he gave Nancy Pelosi everything without getting anything for his racist border wall when he negotiated the government shutdown.
It worked out for Mexico because they’re still not paying for Trump’s racist border wall.
He failed to negotiate repealing Obamacare because he didn’t bring anything to the table.
He also renegotiated NAFTA to what it already was. He renegotiated the timetable for NATO nations to spend two percent of their GDP on their militaries which President Obama had already negotiated.
His negotiations to trade Puerto Rico for Greenland ended with him calling the female prime minister of Denmark “nasty.”
But other times, it turns out poorly for not just our nation, but for the world.
Trump pulled us out the nuclear agreement with Iran which destroyed the deal for every nation involved. Iran was complying with that deal before Trump shitcanned it, but now they’re on their way to obtaining the ability to make nuclear weapons. Thanks, Trump.
Trump pulled us out of the Paris climate agreement which will now make the climate even worse.
Trump negotiated the deal to pull U.S. troops out of Afghanistan. Unfortunately, he negotiated that with the Taliban and released 5,000 Taliban prisoners. He originally wanted the negotiations with the Taliban to be held at Camp David on September 11. We all know how that withdrawal went. Thanks again, Trump.
Remember his treaty with North Korea? What did that do exactly? Oh, yeah….nothing.
Now he says he’s going to make a deal to end Russia’s war with Ukraine. What’s scary about this is, if he’s returned to the White House, Trump just might make a deal…and it’ll suck.
While standing next to Volodymyr Zelensky in Trump Tower on Friday, Trump said he wants to make a deal that’s good for “both sides.” But the thing is, both sides aren’t equal here. One is the aggressor and the other is the victim. He even said while standing next to Zelensky that he has a great relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is based on lies. When he invaded, Trump called him a genius for it.
President Zelensky needs to note that Trump will not take his side over Putin’s as Trump took Putin’s side over President Obama and our own intelligence agencies.
Trump is subservient to Putin. There is no way a deal will be made to end the war that works out for Ukraine. What would a “good deal” be for Russia look like, acquiring 20 percent of Ukraine…or all of it?
Trump doesn’t just take Putin’s side on everything, but he also mimicks his talking points. Trump believes Afghanistan invaded the Soviet Union in 1979.
If Trump is returned to the White House (notice that I don’t use “win”), he will have the ability to end the war…but in Russia’s favor.
Trump will stop providing Ukraine with military aid and after that, it’ll probably fall to Russia within a month. Hell, Trump may even start giving Russia military aid. There may not be any negotiating to end the war because with Trump in office, the end will come with a total invasion.
Trump is going to do a worst job negotiating this than Wilt Chamberlain. Wait, that’s the basketball player. Fuck it, Wilt Chamberlain would still do a better job negotiating the end of this war than Donald Trump.
The war in Ukraine is further evidence that Trump chooses fascism over democracy…every time.

Beautiful, Clay. And spot-on. Now the rest of the country needs to see what a stupid, insane man some of them want as a president. We're living in Bizzaro world.
You're right on about all of this, Clay - scary. Very scary!
