There are quite a lot of good gags in that collection of roughs.

Live these rough blogs and your sharing your process.

The men's hockey team (except for the five that backed out of the "invitation,") just proved they are stupid Neanderthals. The ones with sense knew better than to accept anything from the 🍊💩. And I hear one of them who plays professionally for a Canadian Team is in hot water because dumpster fire posted an AI video on the official White House feed of that guy dissing Canadians. He's been doing damage control for 2 days... FAFO, buddy.

I had not seen the snow rat pizza video, so it was new to me. Poor little thing, hope he/she made it back to his/her nest / den and was able to chow down and get warm! My DIL used to have a pet rat. He was very smart, did several tricks and was very friendly. They apparently make good pets, but I wouldn't try it with a feral / wild rat!

I liked the two doctors. You got a groan out of me.

The ones about the tariff refunds--the line to receive them and them being a "hoax"; the one about Lutnick--"an island is not a room"; and the one about being a doctor--"snorting cocaine off toilet seats"--stood out to me, to name a few.

But, truthfully, they're a great bunch, and it's truly hard to just single out a few.

Stealing art work has become a major problem - since you impassioned anti-ai blog, I have avoided ai imagining and other types of using art without paying or without consent.

I believe this rat video is a recreation and not real if the caption is accurate.....aaannnnnddd I did not read the other comments - apologies!!

I like the "i'm so proud....never mind" version - Peezy's expression is priceless.

BTW saw your latest mug shot on FB or Instagram and you are looking good!!!

Thank you very much for all that you do in the compliment. Yeah, I believe the video is totally AI.

Ada Bab's avatar

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me - this might sound weird, but I really really appreciate it.

If it’s totally AI isn’t it a form of art then? Not one that steals another’s work I mean.

Ada Bab's avatar

That is the problem with AI "art" to create it, it needs already created art. AI art cannot create anything unless it has someone else's art so the only form of art it is is plagiarism - ie stealing another's work....I've seen vicious debates on various message boards where people state "my prompt, my art". The prompt only works because someone else's art has been indexed and is then accessed by the prompt words. Consider this about claims that AI is a form of art - pick up a pencil or pen, think about what you want to draw and draw that image. Is the formatting correct? If a person - is the head in proportion to the body? Are they eyes ok? Hands? How many fingers?

An AI generated drawing is almost perfect because it has access to all the images your prompt has access to. Not everyone has the ability to draw or create an image.

Whew - long rant there but I hope it covers the AI is only as good as the images indexed and accessed by the model used to generate the image from the prompt....

No, thanks. I guess I just didn’t understand how it works. Now I do.

I liked the guy who lost a tooth due to his well deserved comeuppance.

That pizza rat video was AI generated. Watch the footprints suddenly appear and even double up. Yeh I almost sent it too until I looked closer.

You can also read the caption on it, which I did not before, which clearly states it is AI. It's not even trying to fool anyone.

Well then, at least it's a fairly *kind* piece of AI slop, isn't it?

Thanks for that update (and the rec of my comment)!

bakeneko's avatar

Well, damn.... Second time I got fooled by AI slop today...

I was hoping it was real, that the little rat shared it with others in that cold barrow, and that they all might survive the freeze (a wish I would never share for Trmup or any of his criminal accomplices).

I very much enjoyed your roughs, whether they ended up published or not. Thanks!

I hope that in the future you will do a series of coffee table books with the wide collection of your work including your roughs. Yeah, there are some of us who still like print versions because I know that there will come a day when some evil entity will try to wipe out sites like yours or hold them hostage so that we can't share in the fun of laughing at the turds that stink up the politics of our country.

I like real-time, in-person, tactile sensations I get sitting on my living room, flipping through pages, like I did with my Doonesbury coffee table book back in the 80s and 90. I have enjoyed sharing the laughs with others in my home without having to worry about overexposure to a screen or wondering who is tracking the frequencies and types of sites that I visit on my digital devices. I hope that we don't end up having to secretly read your stuff like slaves in pre-civil war USA and USSR dissidents. With ICE being allowed to enter the homes of any resident (citizen or not) without fear of meaningful consequences for their fascist behaviors, the 1984 novel type of dystopia has become a greater possibility. Sigh.
