> Why canโ€™t we have some people from Norway, Sweden, just a few? Let us have a few from Denmark.

Those people are horrified of the US, and do not want to come here.

The other reason they don't want to come here is that their government uses their tax dollars to give them health care, schooling, and child care. Why would they want to come here and have to pay for all of that out of pocket? Look into these countries; we need to follow them much more.

Lots of good detail in this one. Shiver me cankles! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Smart Gilligan stays a couple of islands away from Epstein. And that's my Congressional representative adorning Cankle Man's ear in the first panel. I'm sure she's thrilled.

Here in Pennsylvania, weโ€™re still cringing at Trumpโ€™s off the rails, openly racist rally that was supposed to be about โ€œaffordability.โ€

Apparently, youโ€™re only welcome if youโ€™re a white person from Norway or Sweden and even better if you fit in with the white nationalist agenda.

Never mind that weโ€™re a nation of immigrants.

Heโ€™s very hot on Afrikaners. I think all qualifications were waived to fly them here. No follow up that Iโ€™ve seen - tho Iโ€™ve not looked - about where they were settled, if Elon is paying their rent, for food, cars (Teslas???) and the rest. I need to go check.

It seems random and weird. Gives a lot of credence to the "last person to get his ear on this subject" theory.

Afrikaners? Yes. Elon.

Lots of detail, Clay! That always takes longer, don't overdo, with OT all day! I had to laugh at the 3 islands - Gilligan's, Epstein's & whatever island Tom Hanks & Wilson were Castaways on... did I miss pizza rat? Zoomed in and around to read the sippy cups, and figure out who was on the ear diapers, but couldn't find our little beady-eyed buddy ๐Ÿ˜Š Hope the weather was good enough that you got to go for another little walk today, it's been raining here in SoFla, but I just came home from work after a 14 hour day, so I couldn't go outside anyway! ๐Ÿ™„ Still the rain signals a "cold" front (for us that means it'll be 65ยฐ instead of 90ยฐ, but it makes nice walking weather, hope it sticks around for a few days)!

Jolly Groper LOL. It's nice to see Gilligan and the Skipper, good memories. So, it sounds like today was one OT session with a lunch break.

What hard work, Clay! Excellent.

Projection - spot on.

Good toon Clay. They certainly demonstrated thoroughly that they could have easily intercepted those smaller boats and dragged them back to the US. Almost like Headspace wanted to kill some people or something.

I'm assuming Headspace is gone if these actions don't cause a jump in Trump approval soon. I do know people who believe DJT wants a war so he can cancel elections, but that's assuming nobody around him will tell him it doesn't work that way. It would be great if the Red states cancelled elections and the Blue states did not, because, on January 20, you'd only have Blue state legislators showing up in DC. The old guys from the last Congress would not be eligible to take the oath because they didn't get elected. So it says in the US Constitution.

However, this ship was one of the Dark Fleet of smugglers you sometimes hear mentioned on the news, it was owned by Artemov, and there was a warrant for the seizure. The ship was formerly known as the Adisa. It's uncommon for such to be seized save when they make port in a nation that's agreed to seize them, or they are caught in an illegal action ( MSC Gayane ), but it's not unheard of for it to be done at sea. In any event, this is by far the "most legal" action taken by the Trump Administration in or near Venezuela. It is rather outside the norms of state behavior, as noted by lawfare, as ships at sea are subject to the laws of the state they sail under.

The initial designation of the ship as in violation of sanctions was in 2022 by Biden's Treasury Dept.

Brilliant toon and blog. His entire story is about projection. I love that there are so many Easter Eggs...Gilligan's Island, Tom Hank's and Wilson's Island, and Epstein's Island all in a row; The Skipper ear patch, skull flag, pizza rat on the Jolly Groper...no wonder it took so long. GREAT work.

You and my friend, Frank Mariani, wound up saying so much the same message but with slightly different approaches that i figured you may enjoy his. (Frankโ€™s Buffalo Born Babble on Substack)

It reminds me of a comment that either you or Mike Peterson made about similar approaches by different artists perhaps indicating that the concepts in those cartoons are more widely accessible to readers. Makes sense.

Cartooning is not Frankโ€™s primary employment so his took a little longer, but for the beginning concepts you had to be working at the same time because i wrote him as soon as the alert popped into my mailbox from the Guardian and griped to him that what dt had done fit dtโ€™s own definition of a s-h country. He replied that i had put an idea into his head.

Frank, BTW, knows that i have long appreciated your work so was the one who let me know about your stroke and that your Go Fund Me was mentioned in The Daily Cartoonist.

I especially like the different ways you two played with the parrots. โ€œPolly sees a crackerโ€ had me in stitches, while Frank turning Hegseth into the parrot served as a good reminder that Hegsethโ€™s boss also passes the buck.

(Of course, i have had parrots on my mind, having recently learned that Emily Bender calls Large Language Models โ€œstochastic parrotsโ€. For those without a technologically adroit spouse: Large Language Models are the terribly glitchy form of automation most people seem to assume represents AI. )
