I agree with the persimmon parasite that we should never lose focus on the question of how valid his elections were.
But I feel that way because of reality rather than fantasy, which is his reason. The reality is that both his terms were 100% illegitimate, both because of his cheating, and because of his sedition.

They should save time, declare the first 25,000 votes from Atlanta fakes, and declare the Gold baby won. It's going to be the same in the end, we're all going to know he's lying, so what would be the difference?
I'm not sure how much of this crap I can take. My late husband saw the rise of Hitler in Germany (he was Swiss and so safe then), and warned me about it back in 1916. When they start coming to my door because of my fully expressed opinions, I'll know it's too late, but then, at 85, what do I care if it's too late?

I've followed the reporting of Greg Palast, who's made a career of exposing voter suppression, for decades. His take is that this is mostly part of Trump's plan to steal the elections of 2026/28 - assuming we still have elections by then. Mr. Palast presents substantial evidence that this is part of a larger voter suppression scheme. I'm not usually a conspiracy nut, but he makes a very strong case. Whatever the purpose, it is pure political persecution.

Federal prosecutors tried to charge Lemon, his producer, and six others shortly after the protest, but a magistrate judge refused a warrant for Lemon and his producer, saying prosecutors had not shown evidence that would justify the arrests. The administration then asked a federal judge to overturn the magistrate judge’s decision. When he, too, refused, calling the request “unprecedented,” the administration rushed the case to the Eighth Circuit. It, too, refused.
At that point, it appears the administration went to a federal grand jury to indict Lemon.
Trump is still so obsessed with the 2020 election, still perpetuating the "big lie," still incapable of admitting he lost, that he'll do everything in his power to sow doubt about the next one. While Minnesotans are out there in sub-zero temps fighting for democracy and their lives, Trump sends Tulsi to Georgia to seize over 700 boxes of ballots, etc., hoping to, somehow, mess with democracy any way he can, even though he's not even on the ballot in 2026.
Seeing Fanni Willis's face reminds me of what a strong case she had against Trump and what a shame it was that it couldn't be tried, allowing Trump to never be held accountable.
