He knew it; that was a *very* small part of what gave him the push to drag them through their own shit.

He didn't need *anyone* or *anything* to give hiim the right or the authority to do so.

He will always be a hero to me, as a former journalism major *and* a semi-professional photo-journalist.

I see what you did there.

The 60 Minutes gaggle led by Pelley will not go quietly into the night…. The death of actual journalism at CBS is evident as is the death of any opposition commentary. Basically CBS is living up to its new name: Completely Bull Shit.

Thumbs up to Mr. Pelley for speaking the truth, for showing great courage. As far as CBS goes ... another one bites the dust. Will CNN be next? I hope Peezy enjoyed his popcorn!

I hope Pelley's actions are a sign of more to come. People need to stand up to this "bull(y) spit" wherever and whenever possible!

Perfect toon for this moment.

It appears that Bari Weiss will have no trouble living up to your clever title, "Murder, She Wrote."

As Pelley so aptly put it, “She is murdering 60 Minutes. She does not love this place. She was brought in to kill it, and she’s been doing exactly that.”

So sad and, yet, so inevitable.

Reminds me of a quote I read today: "The most useful tool for concealing the truth is censorship."

And, sadly, this "murder" is just in the early stages.

Shame on CBS…Madison had it right in 1800. Freedom of the Press, is the right that guarantees the freedom of all the others.

You *do* realize what a great animated .gif this would make, don't you?

I guess we can all look forward to a day when she is de-animated and CBS is re-animated.

Apparently, CBS believed Pelley.

Because they are cowards. And anyone who didn't know it before will know it now.

I thought that this crowd was more into drowning things they opposed in the bathtub.

The plan is to get rid of the leftist reporters and make the show MAGA friendly.

There is no shame left on CBS.

I reject your assertion that Scott Pelley, Sharyn Alfonsi, Cecelia Vega, and Anderson Cooper are "leftist reporters."

“murder” is the appropriate word and stabbing in the back.

To think this is the channel that had Walter Cronkite !!

It has fallen to the lowest of the low and can never recover.

I recall the US media blasting news about the white South African government censoring the press, deleting stories about the ANC and the fight against Apartheid, preventing pictures of the police attacking people, pictures of Nelson Mandela and anyone fighting for freedom were banned, photos of Steve Biko’s abused body at his funeral censored…..

where is that press? Where??? Where are those protesting students? Where are the indignant mothers? Where are the protesting men and women? Americans boycotted South African goods, banned movies and TV shows from distribution in South Africa ….the list goes on. Where is the indignation about the exact same thing happening in the USA?????

Oh wait it took over 45 years before the white South African apartheid regime agreed to peacefully hand over power (I’m using 1948 as the “official “ start) . A lot of people died - shot, hanged, disappeared, blown up in bombs, imprisoned for years in terrible conditions, “fell” out of buildings, slipped in showers..….Where are the equivalent of the ANC freedom fighters?

Does the USA have 45 years???

Really good toon and blog, Clay. Oh how I hate this time line. Imagine, the dignity of Walter Cronkite and “60 Minutes” being treated this way. I am seriously angry and sad…not that it matters. Sure am proud of Scott Pelley though. More journalists should be speaking up. A free press is mandatory for our country to succeed. Thank you for addressing this, Clay. Keep on❤️
