Mass Mass Shooting
And another school shooting
Another mass shooting and another opportunity for Republicans to give us empty thoughts and prayers instead of real solutions. You can’t find a solution when you can’t even identify the problem.
Today’s mass shooting just so happened to take place during a Mass.
An 8-year-old and a 10-year-old were killed while sitting in pews during a Mass at the Annunciation Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At least 17 people have been injured. The students were from the adjacent Annunciation Catholic School.
Robin Westman, a 23-year-old, has been identified as the shooter and shot through the windows from outside the church. Westman identified as a woman and had changed her name from Robert to Robin. The right-wing fucknuts are going to love this, but they’ll ignore the parts about the mental issues and racism.
The shooter left a manifesto that called for the destruction of Israel and included racist slurs. Westman flashed a white supremacy sign in a video that showed the shooter’s massive gun collection. The shooter admired those responsible for the massacres at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, and the mosque shootings in Christchurch, New Zealand, among others.
Even the shooter offered “thoughts and prayers” to the intended victims. So, quite frankly, every single Republican’s answer to this isn’t any better than the shooter’s solution.
Donald Trump offered thoughts and prayers to the families of those murdered today, which is even less effort than all the other do-nothing idiots whose only solution is “thoughts and prayers.” TACO doesn’t pray. He has more outrage over the Cracker Barrel logo.
A mass shooter murdered 26 people in a Baptist church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, in 2017. Nine people were murdered at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina, in 2015. A mass shooter killed nine at the Thai Buddhist temple Wat Promkunaram in Waddell, Arizona, in 1991. A mass shooter killed 11 at the Tree of Life – Or L'Simcha Congregation in Pittsburgh in 2018.
If thoughts and prayers aren’t going to stop murderers from killing people with assault weapons in places of worship, then thoughts and prayers are not working. Those places are supposed to be God’s houses, right? If God isn’t going to stop a mass shooter in his house, then why would he stop a mass shooting at a public school, university, or at a Walmart?
And again, this only happens here.
Since the GOP and NRA solutions aren’t working to stop mass shooters, there’s just one trick left.
Ban assault weapons.

Creative note: I was so sleepy throughout the day that I even drank a Red Bull. I hate Red Bull. I was working on another topic, but then this hit, and off I went.
A few people have told me this is hard to look at. Good.
Music note: The cartoon was too simple, art-wise, for music. It didn’t take much time.

Thank you. For word and images. Being transgender is not the issue for this shooting that they will make it. A gun collection is the issue. May the memories of two more victims of bad laws be for blessings.
The right doesn’t want to ban assault weapons because they want to be able to shoot the left if we protest their coup. It’s so insane that they sit there and preach their “pro-life” stance while handing out guns to anyone. And they talk about religion and morality at the same time they talk about hating the left. You’d think they would care about their kids enough to stop being hypocritical morons, but nope.
