In the 1950s we were told that the North American indigenous peope had no permanent settlements and didn't practice agriculture. At the same time we were told about how they taught the Pilgrims to plant maize with fish, a strange and unchristian superstition, leading directly to Salem, when Hecubah introduced witchcraft, still practiced today, to white girls. "Ugh-a-wugga-wigwam", quoth Tiger Lily (erased from contemporary versions of Peter Pan.)
By the way, John Wayne retained his racist view of the settling of the West until his dying day. And Randolph Scott, a notorious transvestite when not portraying a sheriff or cowboy, was among the greatest of all American Heroes. Second, 1890 is 103 years after the present government was formed. So: no, your date is not technically possible. Also, if you are suggesting the tribes were a unified front, then the conflicts should be called the War Against the (now) Previous Occupants. There was never a war against the Cherokee, although they were incredibly mistreated by their neighbors in Georgia, the Carolinas and Tennessee and the Federal Government, which was responsible for the Trail of Tears. There was government nor Cherokee recognition of a state of war. Mostly the history of the so-called Indian Wars is a history of treaties written in bad faith and then broken, the US not obeying treaty obligations. The war in the southwest against the Kiowas and Comanches was, I think, the last official war against "Indians." (In quotes because both of those groups were not majority indigenous. Many were Black, captured Europeans, and children of mixed heritage.) The Nez Perce and Blackfeet were poorly treated by the US government, as well. The Lakota and Cheyenne, famously, too. Canada also broke many treaty obligations towards Sioux, Lakota, Cree and other First Peoples. The major difference is that recent Canadian governments have acknowledged their sins against First Peoples and have negotiated new treaties that are more favorable to tribal interests including reparations, while US governments have chosen instead to ignore the injustices done and ignored the interests and integration of Native Americans, especially considering reparations.
