Donald Trump wants everything named that to him

Donald Trump presented the 2025 Kennedy Center honorees with their medals during a ceremony in the Oval Office yesterday, hailing the slate of artists he was deeply involved in choosing as “perhaps the most accomplished and renowned class” ever assembled. When you look at this class, you know that it’s bullshit. That's like calling the Trump administration the “most accomplished administration in American history.”

Gloria Gaynor is a one-hit wonder, George Strait is straight-up country cheese, Sylvester Stallone has never been thought of as a good actor by anyone who takes acting seriously, and the rock band Kiss is to the Monkees as the Monkees are to the Beatles.

I'm not trying to criticize anyone who likes these artists, and I like some of the stuff that they've done as well, but they are not Kennedy Center material. And neither is Donald Trump, who has taken to calling the Kennedy Center the “Kennedy Trump Center.”

Trump ousted the board of trustees and replaced them with GOP supporters who voted him in as chairman of the board. He made himself the host of this year's ceremony and now wants the center to be renamed after him. This is some serious Saddam Hussein shit.

The ceremony is tonight, and Trump said, “It’s going to be something that I believe, and I’m going to make a prediction: This will be the highest-rated show that they’ve ever done, and they’ve gotten some pretty good ratings, but there’s nothing like what’s going to happen tomorrow night.”

Yeah, we will see about that.

I think it's obvious to everyone except for total MAGA sycophants that Donald Trump does not have taste. From his ballrooms to his bathroom to his music to the way he dresses to the way he styles his hair, it all looks like shit. This is a guy who prefers his steaks to be burned and smothered with ketchup. He is going to do to the Kennedy Center what he does to his steaks.

You may not get a cartoon tomorrow, as I am going to the doctor’s office in the morning, and I never know how long they're going to keep me there.

What am I eating?

Have you ever put strawberries and blueberries in an average salad before? It's very refreshing and delightful. The dressing for this is sugar-free honey mustard. It is very watery, but it tastes good.

Yesterday, I went outside and checked my mailbox all by myself. I get an email each morning showing photos of what is supposed to be in that day's mail, and this one showed one I have been expecting from a colleague whom I respect very much. I was excited about it. Naturally, it wasn't in yesterday's mail. But I felt confident enough to go outside of my own.

And I felt confident enough this afternoon to take a short walk by myself. I think from this point on, I need to do this every day. All the snow we had received on Friday had melted by this afternoon.

This morning's blood pressure, taken at 6:30 AM, was 107/63. My heart rate was 58 bpm. My BPM isn't always this good, as this afternoon it was 135/77. I can't think of anything that I did throughout the day that would raise it 25 points. I'll see what it is later this evening.
