Using their own logic, if they cut ten trillion from the tax cuts for the wealthy, the wealthy would never know. amirite?

Exactly, they can't spend all they have now, and the greedy bastards just want more.

I’ve never understood wealth and why so many use it for many homes, cars, yachts and not to help others. You can only live in part of one dwelling at a time.

Ego. Same reason you see 4WD ginormous pickup trucks without a speck of mud on them, or a scratch on the bed, being driven around town. I've had a bunch of trucks, and they got all scratched up because I HAULED STUFF in them. Showed I was just not one of that "crowd", yanno.

Laughing / but ‘of course’! There’s a recent issue of New York Magazine about The Hamptons and the one (or 10)-upmanship on houses, parties, clothes, dating. I read in fascination. Do things really give one prestige? Or perceived prestige? I guess so or people wouldn’t. And I don’t.

I'm originally from Kansas. Rural voters for DECADES voted against their own interests, usually because of the abortion issue. Republicans promised to end abortions and never did... until now.

You might think that without this wedge issue, rural voters might wise up, but no. Now they've lost the grant money Biden promised them, after spending money they didn't have on improvements, because Trump reneged on the promise. Crops are rotting in the field because the immigrant labor that harvested those crops is afraid to come to work, thanks to Trump and the Republicans that enable him. Now they'll be losing their hospitals, Medicaid, and SNAP benefits.

Will this turn rural voters against Republicans? I don't think so, because it isn't about policies with them, but identity. They identify as Republicans, so they'll vote Republican. Hating Democrats is in their blood. It's generational.

A large of restaurant workers use (used) Medicaid and food stamps so that no tax on tips will only be somewhat beneficial. OK and TX had big plans to expand renewable energy projects, cheaper than fossil fuel ones, but no more. BBB benefits just keep on racking up.

We received a disgusting, partisan email from the Social Security Administration praising the BBB and saying most people won't be paying tax on their Social Security benefits. A huge lie! All they are doing is adding $6K additional standard deduction per 65+ person which doesn't help all that much PLUS it is only thru 2028. Total misleading BS!

That was totally sick and disgusting. The SSA is supposed to be apolitical, and now Trump has weaponized it. It makes me sick.

Clay, when I heard that swamp holding pen crap, my first thought was "I'm living in a freaking comic book". Seriously, who wastes money on shit like that? And I still want to see what was on the site before, because you don't build that stuff in a week. There's nothing to anchor to in a swamp. You can't put up a fence that falls over when you try to tighten up the wires.

Yes, it's a runway. But, still a piece of crap built way too quickly to pass any mandated regulations.

Didn’t it flood the first day? It’s unsafe and I hope they can get it closed down. Maybe they’ll try Manzanar next (sarcasm).

Heh. Like they'd care. Crap "kinder, gentler" Bushit built Ali Al Salem, and that piece of shit hellhole was something he put every person going to Iraq or Afghanistan into, sometimes for weeks. OMG that place smelled like piss. Hundreds of gallons of it.
