You nailed old Sphincter Mouth perfectly with your left hand, you effing genius, you.

I think so, too. I think the drawing---especially because it is your "off" hand---looks fantastic! No way we would not recognize who that is.

Akenta's avatar

I agree too. I am amazed at how much progress you're making.

I’ll go back and read your blog in a minute but I just gotta say that my biggest wish is to be able to draw like that. You Rock Clay!

That drawing is amazing! It made me smile! My 1st thought was "Ooh, Clay is back"!

I can't imagine being talented enough to pull that off with my non-dominant hand. I'm actually a leftie and, as most of us will tell you, living in a predominantly right-handed world has made us more ambidextrous than we might otherwise be. Sounds like you are, too!

Glad your numbers are good, too! Keep it up--we're depending on it!

The drawing, signature and commentary are pure Clay Jones! Dan Pink, who must make millions or more for writing about stuff we should know and then standing in front of big groups reiterating it, wrote one of my favorite semi-business books: “A Whole New Mind.” In it he recommends drawing or writing with your non-dominant hand among the cool exercises I borrowed to teach. I hope you’ll keep it up. Yes. Very tough & your signature looks great.

Cranberries: are you allowed apples and oranges? Do you have a little food grinder? Those group together are sweet-tart and nice as a side dish.

Med system: in DC there are multiple teaching hospitals. Those in one don’t check records in their own let alone cross pollinate to others. It’s the sick patient’s responsibility to schlep, log on, print out, scan & send. I wanna make the Dem traitors & Mike Johnson try.

To another good day and someone showing up! Or find a program on line to do.

Oooh, great idea about combining those fruits to make a nice little fruit relish, Joan! Yum! I remember reading years ago about non-dominant writing to help with creativity, etc. I can't remember where or why I heard about it, but it was interesting. I haven't thought about that in many moons. :)

with a dash of lemon juice.

Put the fresh cranberries and an apple into a small blender / food processor to make cran-apple sauce. You can eat it as is or put some on your toast as alternative to butter / margarine.

Nice idea - we should make a note of all these food suggestions along with what @clayjones should eat and it could be a foodies - peezies? - food bestseller. The alternative to Peezie Pizza Food for Good Health?

It is a lovely relish. Fresh and apple and orange make crans less tart. If you can find Dan Pink’s book, read it. When it was first out he created exercise cards to do the activities. I asked and got permission to do posters of them. Great for facilitated learning I did then.

May I too please have link? Read today a recipe says sugar or substitute can be added. Unsure what sweetener if any he can have to make it less tart.

This totally delights me! I recognize your work…well the floating hair and sippy cup…how could there be any doubt. ❤️❤️

BTW, I have always appreciated that you illustrate dt’s mouth to go with what comes from it.

Keep up the great work Clay!!!

I can't even draw a stick figure with my left hand. Of course I'm not a professional artist like you.

Doing good, there! That drawing would make an awesome black light poster. Got any screen printer buddies? I'd sure buy one or two. Rock on! 💪

Maybe there should be a special edition print of this one -- climbing back in the saddle!

Great hearing how you’re doing. Some suggestions for cranberries that are pretty tasty, try them in salads or add to yogurt. Also good on celery with peanut butter, if any of those are on your diet.

I can't draw a straight line with a ruler, or a curve with one of those compass things. I wish I could draw as well you with your left hand. I envy people with artistic talent.

Renoir and Matisse continued to paint after they suffered injuries/diseases. Monet was nearly blind, but continued to paint. You still have talent, Clay. Far more than most of us can even dream of having.

YAY! Clay's version of That Creature is back! Eventually you'll return to drawing with your right hand; meanwhile, using your left hand is good practice, probably good therapy, and definitely a fun way to pass the time while you continue to recover.

Also, a PSA to my fellow Peezeheads: Annual physicals are an excellent baseline health practice to maintain. Most insurance policies cover routine annual physicals 100 percent, so please do make them a routine.

Is that the hospital food? If so I’m jealous. I lost so much weight the week is was hospitalized a year ago for heart failure. That food was horrible! I’m glad you’re still working on your cartooning as it is so timely. Best of luck in your recovery! I echo your caution about getting checked. I had really no symptoms other than swollen feet that my heart wanted to circle the drain. Women are special like that.

Louis Cross's avatar

Love it, please keep posting your drawings as you progress with your right hand.

113/73 is a great bp reading. 🖖✌

Keep up the good work ! That food in you pics looks great too.

I became more ambi when i had and was recovering from a neuromuscular illness, and decades later remain more ambi than before the illness though not as much as during. By drawing with your left you are showing your mental flexibility superpower. By not giving up on your drawing and your music you are illustrating the superpower of stubbornness. Good!

It may be worse w dt than witnessing (which is bad enough). Remember that this was videotaped BEFORE Epstein’s behavior came out publicly, AND substantially before many of the enclosed details were widely known about dt. So, what she says seemed wild then but we now know that the details fit.

WARNING. Upsetting content involving child-rape and intimidation. It is heart breaking.

BTW, that was just a few years shy of 50 years ago, yet i retain some ambidexterity. (Hey, i am old fart, but i will claim just a touch of wisdom from that.)

The tune up is working. OPPs toon up. Well actually both apply. Congrats. I admire your discipline and always have.
