I told you that you were getting two blogs today. This is the second.
I’ve heard more than one liberal say that because they support Trump and other horrible Republicans, Texas parents deserve to have their children die in these floods. Folks, no. Hell no. Cut that crap out. Let the GOP and MAGAts be the heartless ones. Do NOT emulate them. We must always be better than them. It’s not hard.
Last September, Hurricane Helene hit the southeast Atlantic coast, being one of the strongest storms on record. It brought devastation to Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, and even landlocked Tennessee. Naturally, Republicans politicized it.
First, they claimed the Biden administration wasn’t providing any recovery aid to areas that voted Republican. Of course, this was a lie.
Marjorie Taylor Greene showed a map of Republican congressional districts hit by the hurricane, and claimed Democrats manipulated the weather and sent the hurricane to those districts. These idiots don’t believe in science but believe a hurricane can be shot at a target.
Then, Donald Trump, who was running for president, claimed that Joe Biden spent all the FEMA funds on "illegal immigrants. He said the Biden administration “stole the FEMA money just like they stole it from a bank.” If anyone knows anything about stealing from a bank, or taxpayers, grifting his own supporters, or being a felon, it’s Donald Trump.
Of course, what Trump said was a lie…at least about Biden, because there has been a president (sic) stealing from FEMA.
As we’ve all come to learn, unless you’re a MAGAt living in denial, any accusation Trump makes is projection.
The Trump concentration camp in Florida, poorly disguised as a detention center that the administration has dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz,” will cost around $450 million. So far, Florida has paid that but expects to be reimbursed by FEMA.
Dear Florida, if Donald Trump can figure out how to grift some of these funds, you’re not going to be fully reimbursed. But why are you paying for this federal project? What’s next? Are you going to help pay for Trump’s golf outings?
Department of Homeland Security Director and puppy murderer, Kristi Noem, said on the day she toured the hastily-built concentration camp with Trump, “Alligator Alcatraz will be funded largely by FEMA’s Shelter and Services Program, which the Biden administration used as a piggy bank to spend hundreds of millions of American taxpayer dollars to house illegal aliens … Before this program was used to house criminal illegal aliens. Now, it is being used to detain criminal illegal aliens while they await deportation.” What she meant to say is that now it’s the Trump regime’s piggy bank to use for fascism.
Funny thing about that “criminal” part is that only about ten percent of those detained have been found to have criminal records.
Trump previously objected to federal funding to assist and house migrants, and in February, the regime scaled back $80 million from New York City that FEMA had transferred for that purpose under the Shelter and Services Program. Trump falsely claimed in 2024 that the Biden administration redirected and depleted FEMA funds intended for disaster relief to shelter and help migrants. Now, he’s using those funds to make Hitleresque concentration camps.
When will the goosestepping begin? Ron DeSantis already has the boots.
A FEMA spokesgoon said, Under President Trump’s leadership, we are working at turbo speed on cost-effective and innovative ways to deliver on the American people’s mandate for mass deportations of criminal illegal aliens. We will expand facilities and bed space in just days, thanks to our partnership with Florida.” That means they’re just crapping these things out without any standards or regulations. Also, there’s that “criminal” thing again.
If you have to lie to justify your actions, then you’re probably in the wrong.
And they are crapping these things out because the new concentration camp in Florida has already flooded, and it hasn’t even been hit by a hurricane yet. And I’m sure when a hurricane does hit, probably this hurricane season, Marjorie Taylor Greene will claim that Democrats sent it by manipulating the weather.
I’m not sure how you can manipulate weather, but we all learned during the first Trump regime that it can’t be done with a Sharpie.
If Trump visits flood sites in Texas, I really hope someone asks him about using FEMA to build concentration camps.
ICE has around 60,000 immigrants in “detention centers,” despite only ten percent being criminals. What the regime wants is to take immigrants out of detention centers and place them in more concentration camps.
This is a humanitarian disaster waiting to happen.
And on another note: A reader sent this comment to me on today’s Steve Kelley cartoon at GoComics.
This guy is a racist troll who believes in vile conspiracy theories, like George Soros helped the Nazis during World War II, and that I’m paid by him. He’s always insulting my art when he can’t find anything to criticize in my cartoons.
That’s never bothered me because he’s an anonymous idiot, and I already know I’m not a great artist. But now it especially doesn’t bother me when he puts my art in the same company as Mike Luckovich. Lucko is one of the best artists in my industry, which is part of the reason he’s one of the best cartoonists in the history of this business. He’s been a huge influence on me throughout my career because, like me, he uses outlandish humor as his main tool. I do that. Bennett is a good cartoonist, but I’ve been into his tracing and Photoshop style, while others love it.
So, if you’re going to insult me by comparing my work to Mike Luckovich’s, it’s going to have the opposite effect.
Also, when is this troll going to give me a stupid juvenile nickname?
Creative note: This idea hit me last night, and I thought pointing this out was very important.
Music note: I listened to Kings of Leon.

I refuse to believe that "detention center" in the Everglades really costs $450 million. From the pictures I've seen, it's primarily tent housing. I guess the idiots in charge never heard of the companies that actually build manufactured housing for workers in isolated places. Looks like a bunch of people in FL and other places are lining their pockets with those billions POS is handing out.
Thank you for shutting down the idiots about the horrible situation in Texas.
