Pain. Anger. Pride in the Mayor, the Gov, and police chief and Ms Good. Friends around the country do similarly: try to block these thugs. You can shoot tires out. Hell the thug at her door tried to open the door. I’m sure she’d seen those who are pulled out and stomped on and yes in snow, on pavement, and beaten so badly they are hospitalized. They treated Maduro better and pardoned all of 1/6 real domestic terrorists. And the convicted narco-terrorist head of govt pardoned. Govt sanctioned murder of an unarmed civilian. I don’t want a “life for a life”; I want, esp if the woman officer Kegshead won’t accept in the services has children to see if they play that card. Tears will come. Right now I wish I had the health to demonstrate at the WH.

It is, @Deborah - tonight the murder in MN and the closure of the Pgh Gazette. Newspapers were trusted and accessible and affordable. I wish more Substacks were affordable. It’s not that I and many more might not want to subscribe or could be gifted. Those cheering Ms Good’s death could read other perspectives and think bc they no longer have newspapers. Or in them lies are posted.

A giant cave with blankets would do. Cruelty most of all I find awful, Deborah. Uninformed when tho it’s hard to be informed is bad.

I’m going to sleep and on Thursday morning I want the shooter, the fucker in the WH and all his losses to take responsibility.

Sugar plum fairies dancing in your dreams. Thank you for realizing I wasn’t ok and asking.

It wears on people. But this I suspect is a turning point for MAGA.

I'm from the South. I know this about the South, and that's this business about taking care of white women. That's why Trump and Miller/Noem are trying to get in front of the backlash. Really doubt it's going to work out for them.

I know what's going to be said by the MAGA types down here, and it's going to be "Shot her down like a ****** in Mississippi". You DO NOT want to be on the wrong side of that.

If Trump polling starts on a steady decline in about two weeks (takes time to do polls), this murder is the cause.

I think the Tangerine Tyrant has hit his lowest, that it can go no lower. I know that he has 35% support and he hasn't lost many of those. MTG. A couple of others. But not his core. And I doubt he will. Not that he shouldn't but that group is blind and deaf (and dumb) to his faults. The ones that get sensible humans in and maintain a sense of outrage. I know that it's not healthy to hate someone so intensely as we do, Paul, but being passive in acceptance of the D.O. (daily outrage) is not healthy, either. When Nixon would call out the National Guard, we would fight them, sometimes at great cost. There is no need to die to oppose this regime, but we must NOT become passive in our acceptance. This too shall pass, but a little accelerant isn't entirely a bad thing. Ms Good sounds a wonderful person. Her murder calls out for vengeance.

Bobby Kennedy went to Harlem the night that MLK was murdered and kept the lid on things, preventing a blood bath. I'm not sure that was entirely a good thing.

And the Oregon deaths? I can’t read more than I have, so terrified am I of who next. How do so many people, prob 99+% of whom descend from immigrants; at least 50% of whom know protestors, or like Ms Good, legal watchers, have so much love for the damage to the US and for the tyrant & those who do his bidding?

Not just in the South, @Paul. Comments to an Ohio friend’s FB post were thst it was justifiable bc a car (see Charlottesville) is a weapon. Tonight WaPo reported that the shooter (tho I thought at least two fired) had been dragged by a car at another attempt at a stop of a suspected immigrant. Reported was that the one shooter had his arm hooked through the door handle when the driver sped off and the ICE officer was dragged and suffered abrasions & needed stitches. In other words PTSD is the “reason.” It was written he had 10 years experience doing this work. So now he is the victim!

This while Ms Good’s wife is curbside and understandably hysterical. I’ve not seen that video; a friend who lives 6 blocks from the murder watched.

Will it need to be a wealthy MAGA bystander who’s grievously injured by ICE before it matters to enough people to act?

I know this cartoon and post were done in a hurry but you did capture something truly important: the total hypocrisy and irresponsibility of the Trumphukians. Ashli Babbitt was entering the Capitol with other insurrectionists violently explicitly injuring Capitol police — unfortunately she was shot and killed by an officer as she and others illegally entered the Capitol through a window she broke through. She was committing a violent act.

Ms. Renee Good was sitting in a stopped vehicle in the middle of the road. She was not doing anything when ICE officers approached her. An officer attempted to extract her from the vehicle. She reacted in fear and attempted to drive away from the officer — and he simply shot her at point blank range. And he shot her again. And again…

This is murder pure and simple. Not self defense — murder.

I’m sickened and angered by this.

I’m sickened by the needless, horrific death of a woman who was sitting in her vehicle.

I’m sickened by the Trumphukian “administration” — Noem and Trumphuk himself — blatantly lying about this.

I’m proud of the citizens of Minneapolis for demonstrating but remaining calm. A lot calmer than I would have.

This is another signal that we are dealing with a massively corrupt, vicious, power-lusting, criminal regime. They want violence. They want confrontation. They want excuses to bring out full force to quell any opposition.

They are attacking and threatening countries around the world and are attacking and threatening us at home.

We must rise up and confront them.

We must insist that our political leaders take every action they can to shut down these illegalities. Stop funding ICE, the DoJ, State Department and the DoD. Shut them down.

Disrupt and if possible shut down any and all ICE raids.

We need an immediate mass demonstrations / and protests NOW. This evil juggernaut must be stopped NOW.

We cannot wait until

November.

Sorry I’m so vehement on this — but we are seeing both domestically and internationally the making of the Trumphukian Reich. It’s got to be stopped.

Great depiction of the horrific events of the day, a preventable murder made worse by the disgusting spin by Trump and Noem, contradicting everything we can see on video.

Seeing the bloody air bag and the stuffed animals sticking out of the glove compartment were enough to put me over the edge.

ICE is totally out of control, and l certainly have no faith that any bogus investigation will lead to a proper conviction.

I am so angry, so heartbroken, so sick... I hardly have words for what I'm feeling tonight. All of my life, I've been able to find, in everyone I've disliked, at least one small nugget of something good that would keep me from hating them. I can no longer do that with the imbeciles that are running our country. I hate them with every fiber of my being. I can't even imagine I could hate them any more than I do, but every fucking day - SURPRISE! - I hate them more than the day before.

My heart goes out to the wife and children of Renee Nicole Good, and I hope that the asshole who shot her never, ever has a good night's sleep for the rest of his life. I hope he has nightmares, no - night TERRORS - and his wife (if he has one) leaves him and takes the children. And he gets shingles and suffers with post-shingles syndrome til the day he dies. All of this while he's in prison with shitty medical care. Fuck him.

I feel your pain 🤗. I cried when Tim Walz was speaking. But, there is always at least a LITTLE sunshine to find and sit in. On the weekend, my daughter went to that Sydney Sweeney movie “The Housemaid.” We live in a ruby red area, but when Melania’s “movie” was advertised in the previews, my daughter says the whole theater stood up and booed 😁. I smiled about that for 2 days.

We are dealing with an administration aligned with an international mafia-like crime ring. They have a lot of money and no good intentions. It’s going to get much uglier because they will do everything in their power not to be removed. And they have a lot of power. But we have to keep standing up to them because that’s life, and what else can we do. We have more people, and people with integrity and heart. We have to join hands and stand together. ♥️

I have no words and, like all of you, I am so tired of being outraged and disgusted all the time. We all need to practice some self care and it's getting harder and harder to do that every day. 😢 Clay, thank you for this cartoon and for your exquisitely expressed outrage - you found the words that many of us could not find. Please, please take a bit of time for yourself, rest, go for a walk, don't lose sight of the path to recovery that you're on. We all need to stick together, gather our strength for the coming battles. Focus locally on elections and getting friends and neighbors to commit to voting, write to your reps and senators, even if they are useless MAGA toadies, make your anger known. We must overwhelm this regime in November and do what we can in the meantime to make sure we actually get to have an election. Something has to give, I hope it's not our country.

It was inevitable that putting masked thugs on the streets would lead to this outcome.

Not much else to say. ICE should be defunded totally ASAP. Not a penny. Give border security to a totally different group, and blacklist everyone who ever worked for ICE from joining it.

Gracie's right, Clay. Take some time off. Don't watch or listen to the news over the weekend. Don't bother drawing until the next outrage calls for it. The minor stuff (invasions, pillaging, thievery) will get taken care of. Save yourself for your audience, who appreciate both your outrage and the spin you put on it, and for your friends enamored as we are by the quirky take that calms us down and winds us up.
