Another MAGA Flip-Flop

People who live in glass Rittenhouses shouldn't throw stones.

I wrote this cartoon yesterday, but decided it wasn't the point I wanted to make yet. While I was working on yesterday's cartoon, I saw two other cartoonists make the same point with Kyle Rittenhouse. It's a good point.

The Trump administration initially claimed that Alex Pretti was a domestic terrorist who was looking for trouble the day Border Patrol murdered him. The regime first claimed that Pretti was brandishing his gun. Pretti did have a gun on him, which he had a concealed carry permit for, but multiple videos show that he never brandished it.

In fact, the videos show that Pretti did not instigate the situation. He did not resist whatever the hell it was Border Patrol was initially trying to do to him. He did not obstruct Border Patrol. He did not harass Border Patrol. Pretti did not break any laws.

Pretti was helping a woman to her feet who Border Patrol had shoved to the ground, when they grabbed him, shoved him to the ground, sprayed chemicals in his face, beat him, and ultimately shot him in the back of his head. Border Patrol murdered Alex Pretti, and there is no defense for that.

On Saturday, the regime claimed Pretti was a domestic terrorist brandishing a gun. By Sunday morning, they changed the talking points to Pretti bringing a gun to a protest, as though that made him guilty of something.

Keep in mind that Republicans made Kyle Rittenhouse one of their champions. How many hours were spent on Fox News by Republicans defending Kyle Rittenhouse? Donald Trump hosted Rittenhouse at MAGA-Lardo.

From the photo, it seems that Donald Trump doesn't have any problem with posing with someone who took a gun to a peace protest.

Alex Pretti had a permit for his gun. He owned his gun. Kyle Rittenhouse was not old enough to own the gun he was carrying around Kenosha, Wisconsin, in 2020, the night he shot three people, killing two of them. The gun was purchased by Rittenhouse's friend, Dominick Black, who later pleaded guilty to the delinquency of a minor.

Rittenhouse was brandishing an assault rifle, illegally, that night in Kenosha. Brandishing is the best way to describe it. Alex Pretti never pulled his gun out of its holster. It only left his holster when a border patrol agent pulled it out before another agent shot Pretti in the back of the head multiple times. Republicans, at least until Sunday morning, have been the champions of your Second Amendment right to own a gun. They've been huge advocates for open carry. Who hasn't seen the photos of multiple fat guys with assault rifles in Dunkin' Donuts?

The regime claims Pretti went to the protest looking for trouble and to harm federal agents. Of course, those are lies. Pretti lived and worked in Minneapolis. Rittenhouse did not live in Kenosha. Rittenhouse traveled across state lines to skulk around Kenosha with an assault weapon. There is more evidence that Rittenhouse went to Kenosha looking for trouble than there is that Pretti was looking for trouble.

Cops gave Rittenhouse water, and after he shot three people, killing two of them, they drove past him. Without any reason at all, Trump's armed Gestapo posing as law enforcement beat Pretti before murdering him.

Republicans supported the murder of Trayvon Martin, a kid murdered by a neighborhood watchman. They were champions of “stand your ground” until a policeman shot and killed Ashli Babbitt as she was participating in the attack on the nation's Capitol building.

January 6 rioters brought weapons with them to the Capitol on January 6, which Republicans supported.

Now, they don't seem to support bringing guns to protests anymore.

The Trump regime is now working on changing the optics. They have pulled Gregory Bovino, the one who claimed Pretti was looking to harm federal agents, and have hidden him.

Trump is putting Border Czar Tom Homan in charge of ICE in Minnesota and tasking him to find fraud in the state which is weird. It seems that one thing doesn't have anything to do with the other.

But I am very sure that Tom Homan is the right man to find fraud, since it's documented that he takes bribes.
