This one is my favorite of your cartoons since you restarted.
It reminds me of a news article during the first dt admin when a couple of people in a store line were roundly dressed down for not speaking “American”. If my memory serves, when someone finally asked what they were speaking they replied, “Navaho”.
It also reminds me of a survey then on whether the U.S. should use Indo-Arabic Numerals. Guess how many people do not know that most of our numbers are Arabic in origin, with the zero which makes arithmetic so much easier than with Roman Numerals being from India?
Excellent 'toon and blog post, Clay! Peazy looks happy and he doesn't care what language anyone is speaking or what colour their skin is!!! People should be more like Peazy! Have a happy Thanksgiving!!!
I’m glad to hear that you are continuing to improve, and I love that you are receiving so much support, in big ways and small ways. Even though things (in general) may seem kind of difficult and sucky for a lot of us, we usually can find a few things to be grateful for. Two of those things for me, and all of us who follow you, is that you are recovering, and still giving us the toons that capture what we’re all thinking and feeling. Thank you. And Happy Thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving, Clay! Count me as one of the many who are thankful for you and your cartoons and ate grateful that you're making great strides on your road to recovery. Glad to hear the PT and OT is helping and that your shoulder pain is less than it was. Please give your friends a big thank you from all of us - we're thankful for them, too! Continue to take care of yourself, so you have many more Thanksgivings to share with your friends and fans! 🦃🦃🥧🥧
I wondered if that was an ancestor of Peezy in the cartoon, or if he time-traveled back there? I think he time-traveled, because of the pizza he contributed. :)
Clay — I appreciate you calling out those “‘Mercans” who insist that America is sposed to be a White English-speaking, “Christian” country. I have Dutch lineage as well as Jewish, Scotch and a few others (including a bit of English). The Dutch came to New Amsterdam very early, so why isn’t it our national
language. Oh, I forgot them English seized New Amsterdam through a show of force as they were wont to do in the age of aggressive colonialism. The tradition continued in the US as Spanish and Mexican lands were conquered along with the forced movement and essential extermination of Native Americans who unfortunately were in the way of our “Manifest Destiny”.
So as we give thanks today let us remember that our wellbeing is the end product of man’s exploitation of others and hopefully do better.
THIS. CARTOON. 🙌 Simple cartoons that pack a punch seem to be your strength. Recovering from a stroke may be forcing you to keep it simple, but you also had some powerful simple cartoons before the stroke.
So it's just you, Clay. You're brilliant.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃🥧 and please add this design to your online shop. I think it would look nice on an autumnal brown shirt, and I'd wear the hell out of it.
True, but you're wrong about men being easier than women unless it's only in reference to your drawing. You have had a stroke, so I'll chalk that up to residual brain damage ;)
Having worked in retail grocery for 23 years, I can assure you that the problem is simply PEOPLE. 😫 People, regardless of gender, shape, size, or other factors, are difficult.
Well, not all of them. 😉 The good ones keep me sane.
I see pizza rat is back! Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy thanksgiving to you and Pizza Rat!!! I count you getting better as one f the things I am thankful for this year!!!
Hear, hear! I second, third, and fourth that!
