It looks like there is nothing to do at the State Fair - just overpriced food, a ride, and boring state displays. It is sad when one thinks of how great this could have been. Imagine a booklet similar to the Junior Ranger books, where kids could go to the state booths, write down one interesting fact, get a sticker, and then show the completed book to a ranger and get a certificate. Or a national science fair where the winners of each state display their science experiments. Or a friendly competition on which state has the best "fair food". Or scouts setting up areas where they teach about outdoor education. Or a real keel boat like Lewis and Clark used along with the type of food they ate and the clothes they wore. Or an actual cotton gin and why it was revolutionary. So many ideas. It is almost as if the person(s) who planned this thing has never been to a fair and they think just being there it the adventure. And remember, these people are also insisting on being in charge of the Los Angeles Olympics. Yikes.
YES! Friends who went out of curiosity and I who didn’t thought that’s what it would be. But that costs $$$ that can’t go into trump ‘s pockets. The company that is doing it is a shanda to the entire meetings/exhibit industry.

We will try to watch the PBS show tomorrow IF we can hear through the planes. Our traditional 4th is the DVD of “1776” where I change words of ”Considerate Men” to “to the left, never to the right”!
TCM has 1776 on tomorrow. Also YouTube has it. I don't do live streaming. :-) I got the impression that today's concert was to be aired on the local DC area stations, not nationwide. But the PBS show on the 4th is nationwide airing, as it is every July 4th. Ken Burns is also doing a pre-concert program on the Revolution. I didn't check if the NYC concert/fireworks or the Boston concert is being aired nationwide. They have been in the past.
