I haven’t done a blog of roughs since early August and we’re now halfway through September. Part of what makes a drawing a rough is that it’s not completed. With some of these, the idea isn’t even completed. Because I drew some of these several weeks ago, I have forgotten what they’re about.
I drew this on August 24 which was a month ago. This was local for the FXBG Advance, but I can’t remember if I submitted it. It was about former Mayor Lawrence Davies who did a lot of great stuff for this town.
I drew this on August 27 and it became a completed and published cartoon.
This was drawn on August 28 and I threw it away for something else. I didn’t finish the drawing and now I don’t even remember what it was about. I do recall there was supposed to be a third car and I think RFK was supposed to be in with a bear…maybe?
This was drawn on August 29 and I’m sure I ditched this for something else on Trump’s visit to Arlington National Cemetary.
This was ditched too. This is the cartoon I went with.
This was drawn on August 31 and good god, what the hell is going on here? I don’t even remember. You have to remember that I hit my head really hard while in Chicago. That could be a song. “I hit my head in Chicago…and I can’t remember my baby’s name…” Yeah?
This was something for the Advance but we chose something better. This was created on September 13.
This was selected over too, but I do love Boris.
This is what we chose for the Advance. I liked it the most out of the three.
This was drawn on September 16 and became a real cartoon a day later.
This was going to be something bigger and then I just stopped drawing. It was drawn on September 15.
This was sketched out on September 20 and I stopped drawing as I realized I didn’t love it. It was on Mark Robinson. You can say “I did NOT SEE that cartoon finished.” Get it? Not see…Nazi? Never mind. I’m weird.
This was drawn last Friday, September 20 for the Advance and became a finished cartoon.
This was drawn last Saturday, September 21, and ditched for something even weirder.
It was ditched for this and you saw it here. It is weirder, right?

LOL! Wish you could remember, bc my fav is the one telling 45 that is his running mate.
I can never decide which rough is my favorite since they're almost all so good! I do enjoy seeing what is going through your creative mind even if they don't get published! :)
